In this latest episode of On the Creature Trail with the Kratt Brothers. Chris and Martin Kratt are on the creature trail for what could be the world's cutest animal - the red panda! The red panda, or Ailurus fulgens, was initially presented to the western scientific community in 1821 - roughly 48 yrs before the giant panda’s introduction, which scientists once believed to be a close relative. Today, however, red panda’s are in their own unique family, Ailuridae!

Aaaaahh! I’m like not that old (16) but when I was really little me and my brother would watch zaboomafoo and when I was a kid I watched literally every single episode of wild kratts. My mom is a first grade teacher and she played some wild kratts while teaching over zoom and I got super nostalgic. Now I’m rewatching it on pbs kids. I love y’all so much❤️

I was 6 to 7 in 1996 when you started the show. So I was close. So 24 years ago I was watching every Saturday morning. So awesome that you guys still are doing what you love and introducing kids and adults alike, to the animals of the world. Y'all taught me Darwinism at such a young age, I remember stunning my teacher when she tried explaining why humans come in so many colors. I said, I know Darwinism with wild animals is a thing, So I assumed humans were at least involved in a similar process. Been a nerd ever since.

I was fascinated that red pandas belong into their own family Ailuradae. I learned it from your show Wild Kratts and I guess that red pandas are from the raccoon but I understand they're not from the raccoon family, they're a unique species that is belong to it's own unique family Ailuradae. I'm a wild kratts superfan and I remember the wild kratts episode 'red panda rescue' when the crew had to guess what species the red panda..I actually thought what Aviva did, red pandas belonged to the weasel family. But it was quite shocking when I found out that the Red Pandas belonged to their own family Ailuradae. I was as shocked as they were! Wow, and I do agree they are cute!
