I wish i knew about this 2 years ago. My now 15 year old struggled with math when we first put him in homeschool. This homeschooling though has taught him to think harder and find his own resources. He's doing much better now. Thank goodness because I am not so smart outside of your basic math. Now my youngest 2, we will definitely be checking out this teaching textbooks. They will bo homeschooled the whole time.

Julie, I’m usually a quiet observer on social media, but really wanted to thank you for your honest and inspired mothering, homeschooling, homeschooling wisdom that I have gleaned from videos and blog posts like this one. We are very soon a family of seven, and these practical tips and affirmations (as some of them I do too like baby wearing or planning dinner in the morning!) were a comfort. Thank you for sharing your humble confidence with me. You show me what IS working, and that gives me hope, even within the challenges of the mundane but fulfilling life as an investor in the heart of the future, shaping and loving little humans and adding joy to the world. Blessings!

Nice work Momma organizing the kiddos chores 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼 I wanted to ask about teaching textbooks online, can you start at a level and then switch as you complete, do you have to pay for each level for one kid? Thank you!

My husband had a grow room down in the basement of our old house. In this new home we don't have a grow room so i think he's going to utilize the attic that we are currently trying to redo. We have so much that we need to still get done. I understand your frustration. Kid's, things not working smoothly in the home. Lately i find myself having either cabin fever or mentally stressed about how we are currently living. Keep praying and trying so hard to keep a positive mind set instead of groping about something that's dysfunctional. I'm like you, i love getting up before everyone else and having that ME time and to be able to kick start my day without a little one under foot. Except these day's i find myself not wanting to get out of bed until my 11 month old wakes up and she's ALWAYS awake at 6:30 am. Seriously can't wait for the time change. We don't try to adjust our kid's to the time, so she should start sleeping in until 7:30 and I MIGHT be able to start getting my morning ME time again. ❤ Last baby and she sleeps the worst of them all. Go figure, I'm older, need more rest and she is my difficult child. Hahahahhaa, she does make me laugh every morning though, the way she shakes the railing of the bed. Her way of telling me to get up.

It's always interesting to hear how other large families keep organized and productive. I watch Jessica from "Three Rivers Homestead" and she literally plans the entire week out every week on paper, including the three daily meals, chores, big jobs, little jobs, you name it. I don't know how I'd do if I had a big family. I like being organized but it would drive me nuts to be too regimented.

Love your video, so inspirational! And all your children are precious. What kind of things does the methyl B12 vitamin help with? I’m wondering about this for a couple of my children…
@jasonandjulie Жыл бұрын
I found out that we have an MTHFR gene mutation in our family (which is apparently relatively common) so supplementation with a methylated B vitamin is needed. It made a huge difference for us! Helped with some behavioral issues in certain kids and mentally helped me avoid depression. I also have easier pregnancies since I’ve started taking it! I take this one every morning amzn.to/3IU7RKU

How were you able to cook and clean while breastfeeding before you got the nursing tops? Also has any of your babies had jaundice?
@jasonandjulie Жыл бұрын
I’ve had some of those nursing camisole type shirts for a long time so I just wear them under any shirt. It makes it easy to lift a shirt for nursing but still stay modest. We’ve had slight jaundice issues before. To get rid of it I nursed them often and let them lay in their diaper near a window to get extra sunshine.

I am a 70s kid, back then nobody in my country (Belgium) took vitamins, unless there was something very wrong with you (ie something showing up in bloodwork). It was that unheard of. These days it's all become so popular that you have to wonder, is it necessary if you have good food? I can understand say iron for a teen girl if needed but for the rest? Nope.
@jasonandjulie Жыл бұрын
I do agree with you but I think there are a lot of factors at play. Soil today is more depleted than it was 50 years ago so our food is just not able to be as nutritious. This is one reason I’m trying to learn more about herbs and their nutritional benefits as a way to supplement what we’re not getting in our food. Also, our family has a genetic MTHFR gene mutation so that’s why I supplement the methylated B vitamins even though I don’t give them a general kid multivitamin.
