People need to look at how aiyuk plays when he doesnt have the ball. Look how well he blocks. Its so damn good in this offense.

If the niners had a decent O-line, we wouldn’t need WRs to block. BA’s durability far outweighs his blocking ability. BA barely cracked 1,000 yds only twice. For what BA has actually produced, he has no right to demand what he is asking. He isn’t even the focal point of the offense.

You can’t have every position getting the highest paid contract, you have to balance it with the salary cap.

I know this is cut up from a longer stream but what is Damon talking about, "..if he comes back and is on a deal less than $29mil, shame on everyone for taking this long to get that done. If this is south of $30mil, that deal could've been struck a mcfluckin month ago (is how that really feels) so." I don't know what you guys said leading up to this to elicit Damon's usual emotional reaction, but I was pretty sure over a month ago that everyone was talking about how Aiyuk and his agent's plan was to wait for the WR market to develop and see how much the cost of WRs would go up before coming to the table for what they thought they could get. If this was the case, then the 9ers could not have wrapped up a contract deal a month or so ago when comparable receivers and better receivers had yet to sign in a rising market. Anyhoo, there's multiple factors going on delaying matters.

Why is nobody talking about how often players who get their big contracts never produce what they just got paid? They only go down in production, not up, and the team always gets screwed!

Yeah, but what's the alternative? Trade them and hope you get a guy as good as them in the draft (and they probably won't. ex. Javon Kinlaw)? There productivity may dip for a season or two but eventually it returns.

@@kfw9257 it’s always a gamble, but for every Kinlaw example there are 10 times more examples of high paid players NOT getting better (especially when it comes to diva WRs). You can go back decades when WRs ask to be paid the highest in the league. And it all comes down to these players agents (who are ONLY about money), their careers only revolve around money, they don’t even take into account the careers of the players. And with the salary cap you can’t pay every position the highest salary, you have to get rookies who are trapped for 4 yrs. Just look at the Rams, they bought just 1 superbowl and haven’t been in contention for years since. Look at the diva WR Hill, he got the highest contract in history (at his position) and still hasn’t fulfilled that contract, and now wants a new one. You have to stay away from players who put money above the team.

I think the 49ers maybe wanted to see what Pearsall has and give him more reps/ they know how good Aiyuk is. They want to win this year, they’ll find a compromise before training camp- nothing to fret about.

Damon, how the hell do you know anything? For all we know, Aiyuk's agent could be at fault filling his head with grandiose amounts of money. Remember Bosa basically told his agent to just get the deal done and stop f*cking around. Hey, I'm not saying the Niner FO is perfect but you don't even fault the agent or BA at all. Usually it is a combination all parties. Quit whining like a politician and find out facts before you pontificate on the issues that seemingly aren't known at this time.

The NFL needs to come up with a system that limits what these GREEDY agents get. They ARE at the very heart of this bullshit! All they care about is money, and they convince their clients that this is what should be priority first them also. They are supposed to work for the player’s best interests, not their own.

Niners pride is what gets them. Kyle coaches the same way too. He is not flexible enough in crunch moments. They needed to decide if Aiyuk was worth keeping around and work to get the deal done sooner. If his camp wanted to drag it out to this time, the Niners would have had time to decide this months ago had they properly prepared themselves. They could of moved off BA and replaced him with a solid vet along with drafting his replacement. They decided against moving him before the draft, so now they are forced to pay him or trade him and get less compensation. Niners got to be more flexible and think out of the box. They don't always have to be so rigid. Proper planning, helps to avoid situations of uncertainty.

Bad takes from everyone. Aiyuk isn’t a must have. And he and his baby mama are as much to blame as anyone else. Aiyuk gets targets bc he’s not the focal point.

1) Damon Bruce said Kyle doesn’t give rookie WRs targets, but Deebo go 57 catches and Aiyuk got 60. Pearsall is a first round pick. Don’t compare him to Jauan or Hurd.

They have not messed up anything. They just don't want to pay him what he wants. It's really simple. Make him play on his option. See what type of season Deebo has. Deebo is playing for his spot on the team. Which is crazy to even say, but it's the facts. I want BA on the team and hope it gets done, but we have a lot of talented guys starving to get the ball. Kittle on any other team would be a center piece player putting up Travis Kelce numbers. If we were passing team, fuck yeah pay him. The guy will never catch 100 passes because of the way 49ers play play football.

@@OnTheBubble-km9cz when you factor in rushing and receiving yds, BA and Deebo have the same yds in their 1st 4 seasons. Deebo got his big contract after he had that monster year where he carried the team. I never thought Deebo should have got that huge contract. BA is asking for 30+ million a year and I don’t think he is worth that. BA didn’t do shit until Purdy came along, and I believe Purdy is the real deal (he literally broke the 49er all time passing record last year). I think a great QB can make any WR look great. No WR is worth more than 25 million. Great QBs are a lot harder to find than great WRs. BA needs to just play out his contract and he will have another great year, and let another team overpay for him.

Exactly! Everyone talks about the WR “market”, when WRs are everywhere (easiest position to find) then pay scale should never be going up! The hardest positions to find are the ones where the pay scale goes up.

3) you can trade BA for 2025 draft picks (jets 1st and 2nd) because those picks can be traded for a 2024 player like Tristan Wirfs. Especially if Pearsall proves to be productive.

Aiyuk has never seemed totally engaged with the organization. He was in Kyle's doghouse for his 1st 2 years, and has never been an elite target hog. Wouldn't be shocked if Aiyuk is ready to walk.

A WR or a pass catcher is 5th on the list of needs for the Niners! OLine is the biggest need for thr 49ers! Most teams have a dual threat! Give your QB an extra few seconds to find a 2nd, 3rd or 4th read!!!

Negotiations for the position was thrown off by a couple of high dollar signings in the NFC North and were further complicated by the CMC extension, free agency and the draft. The Niners will somehow work it out…they’ve done rather well at keeping talent they develop

2) Larry and Damon talk about trading Aiyuk is a foregone conclusion if they cannot extend him. Why? He is under contract for $14.1M. He does not have leverage. The can franchise rag BA in 2025 for $25M. And then negotiate extension or trade for a first plus picks. Or, if the trade market is soft, tag him a second time $25M + 20% = $30M. Three year avg. is $23M. Do you think Aiyuk can sit out any of that?

Absolutely click bate- dude was slack 1st couple of seasons - strong year and wants huge payday They have alot receivers and have a ton of other players to pay. Throwing big money at everyone is a recipe for not making the playoffs and taking years to get out from under a huge financial burden I hope they trade the guy and let new guys get more playing time He is not elite but shines in Kyle's offense because there are 5 guys out running routes so the defense doesn't have top guys on everyone.

It's always about the team screwing up with these guys. What if BA's agent was asking for high 20's or even 30 from the start? You don't make a deal if you don't think it is a good one. Worst case scenario is he plays out his contract and they are faced with another decision next season.

Everyone needs to remember that before Brock became qb, Aiyuk was a run of the mill receiver which landed him in the doghouse with coach Shanahan. Aiyuk is only relevant in this offense and certainly is not worth 30+ million a year.

Damon why don’t you pay Aiyuk then. Shame on everyone if it’s less than 29Mil and if it’s higher than 30Mil then you still blame the Niners. There’s a reason why you’re not the GM and the Coach of the 49ers. You don’t even know if it’s Aiyuk who don’t want to negotiate. All your saying are assumptions. The Niners has a history of making their players happy, CMC, Jennings, even Juice signed without any drama. Aiyuk created the drama because he knew he may not get what he wants from the very beginning. I mean really, right after SB Aiyuks camp already started talking, you can tell they are focused on the money. He even said “Money talks, SB walks”. With that being said I think they will pay him 30Mil, I do believe he doesn’t deserve it, more than 2x his current salary. He wants higher salary than Deebo. He forgets he needs Brock to excel. 49ers can tag him. And if he doesn’t play good then they still hv Deebo.

I find it so funny when people insult others at a job that they do full-time and are amazing at it. You three have no clue what it takes to be In a contract negotiation. You don't know what the 49ers are thinking. What their strategy is. Need to get away from the old school style? They have done amazing so far and it's pretty disgusting that you think that you know best over them. Three monkeys fn a football. On top of it, you really don't know the numbers that are being talked about, so don't act like you do.
