As someone who has been there many times throughout my life (probably near 10 times or so now), I’d add that another big mistake would be not waiting until night time to ride things again. Usually by night time, everyone is beat from walking through the park in the hot Florida sun all day, and all they want to do is get to their hotel and shower, so the wait times get super super low. I think it was like 9 o’clock last time I went and the mummy had 5 minutes so we rode it again. Stay til the minute it closes!!

We packed a lunch each day we were there. You can bring in your own food and snacks. We took our water bottles with filter in them and just refilled regularly. We did pack one suitcase with just food then used the warming station to heat up foods that we put in the refrigerator. We brought a loaf of bread and hard boiled eggs as well as Costco hamburgers. We rode out Ian and shared food with others that got trapped. We were on a tight budget but had fun on a budget. If you go out the backside of volcano bay you can walk to a strip mall and pick up souvenirs for half the price.

It’s unbelievable to me that I don’t have a single photo from HHN31, even though we spent three nights there! 😱 Butterbeer is a must-do for everyone, too, especially now that they’ve added the vegan butterbeer option (which is actually pretty good). I can’t get behind F&F as a fun ride, though 😂 I think I actually regret getting on the ride as opposed to not getting on it lol I think that F&F coaster in Hollywood is going to be incredible, though!

We are year pass holders. We've been many times. There is no perfect time of year to go. However, summer is HOT and crowded. It usually rains everyday, which shuts rides down, but only for 20 minutes or less. So you have plenty of time to dry off. Just sucks to get stuck in a line of a ride that shuts down. Going at Christmas is the BUSIEST time of year. The weather can be more mild and even really cold. You typically need to dress in layers- warm in the morning but able to get down to lighter under layers by the afternoon. We've actually gone at Christmas and it rained for an entire day. It will typically rain all day when it does if the weather is more mild. Ponchos are a must, with long sleeves, waterproof shoes, and lots of extra clothes/shoes packed. The best time to go is probably January (after kids go back to school) through just before spring break. I prefer February or March. We've gone during a hurricane, but only because we watched the weather and our predictions were correct and Orlando got nothing... but the parks were dead and the weather was great... best trip ever.

Water is FREE @ mnay kiosks, bar stands, restaurants AND the coke free style machines. At Coke machines, just need a cup, e.g. a refillable from home, an empty Butterbeer/souvenir cup, etc.

You can save 1k minimum by staying off site. It's just as long of a walk to go to your car as it is to go to the busses or boats and WAIT. depending on the onsite hotel you stay at, you could be walking a TON to get to your room (sapphire falls is the worst for this). Typical offsite hotels you will just jump on a very conveniently placed elevator and walk down a hallway to get to your room. You can also stay offsite and not pay for parking at the hotel. This is a must for people who drive to Orlando because onsite hotels charge about 30$/day for you to park your car in their garage and never even use it. I think it's cheaper to pay for longterm parking at the airport. I just priced staying onsite at Christmas and it was minimum 5k for 4 nights... that was one of the cheaper hotels. The food at the cheap hotels is expensive and not good. The food at the more expensive hotels is good but expensive. Stay offsite, don't pay for parking, check to make sure they have shuttles all day to avoid paying for parking at the parks, or just drive to the park and pay for parking there. We've even paid the extra money for vip parking because we saved so much staying offsite. I don't know why all of these youtubers keep saying it's a deal to stay onsite.... IT'S NOT... BY A LONG SHOT. I've done the math, compared the price to 3 star hotels with 5 star ratings that serve FREE breakfast and the difference is astronomical. The only caveat to this would be if you're booking last minute at a busy time for Orlando and most offsite hotels are booked... then you might spend the same amount at a lower end onsite hotel. We've stayed at cabana bay and sapphire falls. Both are nice hotels and you don't be disappointed with maintenance or cleanliness, but a little more work and you can find the same thing in offsite hotels.

Hey Nick, Universal does tend to close early (sometimes due to special events). At this time, there are no nighttime shows as they are both under maintenance with no return date announced yet.

Popeyes is the best raft ride in central Florida. Infinity Falls does have a tall tower and drop. But overall, Popeyes is best. And get's you the wettest which is why we ride it right?

I forgot to mention that we did a package deal for hotel and passes. Since we go first week in December and again almost one year later, 2nd week in November. we got annual passes so that our second visit just before our passes expire, we will only need hotel accommodations and still get hotel discounts. We get 14 days in the parks over 2 trips almost a full year apart and pay the amount of 4 days admission. Just another way to save.

Also, the fast and furious ride is not worth it in my opinion, but definitely ride it at least once just so you can say you experienced it. But, just know it’s pretty outdated and shockingly loud sometimes (it pissed my boyfriend off how loud it was lol). In my opinion, the ET ride is more worth it, and that one is extremely slow but it’s cute.

A lot of these aren’t mistakes, just ways of saving money. Sometimes I’d rather spend money for more convenience. For example, I would recommend purchasing an all day locker rather than lugging around a bag. I prefer to only have what I can fit in my pockets on me and then run back to the locker if I need to. Let’s say I have a headache so I go back to the locker to grab some Tylenol. I’m glad I have the Tylenol with me but also don’t want to carry it around if it’s not needed.

I bet y'all are going to be busy when Epic Universe opens, and not just because of the areas within the park, but the 3 new resort hotels. My guess is the main one inside the park is going to be premiere, and the other 2 outside of it are going to be cheaper options. We'll see though. I am waiting for Epic Universe to open before going to Universal, but being the big pre-planner that I am, I am looking at videos now because I did the same thing for Disney (like 3 to 4 years before we actually went, Covid threw a monkey-wrench into things, so we had to redo our reservation and all that). I am looking at either Winter of 2025 or 2026 because I don't want to worry about Rain as much and I want to see how Universal does Christmas. So question about going in and out of the parks then. Say I want to each lunch at City walk, but am already inside one of the parks, can I go out of a park and come back later? Like I know certain theme parks have a stamp system. I'll definitely be doing the app and the Mobile pay option, that was a live saver for me at Disney. I think another mistake is to not bring your own portable phone charger too. That was one of the best tips I got because since I had the Disney App on constantly, it was reassuring to have that portable charger with me and I did use it a few times. Speaking of the resorts, I am guessing you've tried them all, which ones would you recommend if you value privacy because my family stayed in the Cabins at Fort Wilderness and we didn't have to worry about noisy neighbors since my mom's a light sleeper.

Let me stop you right there on the generalization of " how Florida pizza normally is" where do you think most people who make pizza in Florida come from? New York, Boston, New Jersey. Just because you have esten in a few bad places near the parks. That is not the case, i live in Sanford Florida and i have 3 within a close proximity that rank right up with anything you have in Lawn guyland . Never ever go to the parks on the weekends and during the times when schools are out. Go during the less crowded days and take the kids out of school. Weekdays (Tuesday-Thursday) is the best time.
