after hearing what Scooby said to Velma, I love how at first he tried to act like a normal dog without being able to speak in order to not seem suspicious and see if that way he could get his gang back again, but he got very desperate when he saw that velma actually suspected him anyway and then killing the gang on the spot, showing his frustration edit: i saw a few ppl saying that he shouldve done it differently, like removing his collar and saying hes a messed up science experience. But wouldnt that not make everything be the same? Scooby wants it to be just like the old times, he doesnt want them to pity him because hes a messed up science experience and he wants to wear the collar just so he can be like the ''old'' and ''innocent'' scooby.
