***THE SHAFT IS BENT ON PURPOSE*** To bend the stick you put it a bike holder (that holds the frame) and push down on the shaft so it bends where it touches the holder. I went to a camp of his in the bay area and the reason he bends his shaft is so that the ball can be hidden from the goalie easier.

I'm a DPole, & I love when attackmen move side to side on me. I'll take that "shopping" elbow up & empty his pocket All day...better look to pass, won't get a targeted shot off in front of me. Not hating. ..just like the bent shaft as well.

Good offensive players bait defenders, you going for the elbow would just allow them to get underneath you. Its best to play body unless you have a clear take-away check.
