I’m working on it. Personally I haven’t quite learned how to exactly but this podcast definitely was very helpful to me so thank you so much! I I love Nicole and your families videos and energy, it’s makes me smile everyday 😊 the most important things I learned from this podcast was 1. Surround yourself with people who make you happier and more positive 2. Helpful vs Harmful 3. Know your worth and when to walk away 4. Not everyone is supposed to be in your life forever. I really try my best to stay positive with other people, but I also keep away from anyone who's toxic. I know that I don't need that extra burden on myself when I feel like I'm already drowning, so I just stay away. I also try not to associate myself with drama, like ever. It's just a lot of gossiping, rumors, and unnecessary attention that diverts my focus on things like my studies or my mental health yk.

omg i relate to nicole's story so much. I felt so much pressure and guilt from trying to stay friends with a childhood friend. My friends and family kept stressing me about why I don't hang out with her anymore it made me feel even worse. But we just grew apart with different goals in life and people should learn to be ok with that. Side note: Can't wait for this podcast to be on spotify!

Hey Laeno Family ! I enjoyed this topic and podcast. All of you including Nicole gave great insight on Protect Your Peace. Some of the experiences and advices are helpful. I myself struggle with this issue of Protect Your Peace because I have autism with a learning disability since I was young to present. I deal with people, some of my friends, peers of them, women, and people from different minorities groups get judgmental about me having a disability, comparing how they are better than me, and putting me down. It is hard and stressful when I deal with this challenge and feel depressed about getting put down for having a disability. Also Thinking of others is a challenge when people put me down. the things that I work on protect my peace is pray for people including people who have challenges get good things in life, practice critical thinking including compassion, do walking or some exercise, eat healthy or be creative on different foods, and many others. Also I do volunteering to help feed homeless people including people who are low income get food or other essential items to help expand on compassion while helping people. Also I like to write letters to influential people including celebrities that work hard to make a great difference for society or how they inspire me to work hard on my disability or to learn different things. Thank you for this video.

Omg, it was so nice to hear you talk about this issue b/c I relate to what Linda had to say about ghosting a toxic friend of hers b/c that was the only way at that time. And also when Christian said that when he stopped pursuing a girl what came down with it was the friendship b/c recently I had this guy friend of mine and all of a sudden he stopped talking to me after years of friendship when I thought everything was going great but then I found out that he was kinda attracted to me in a way, and you just made me realize that. I love this talk 💕 For me tho, We forgive people and give our second chances (or more) but chances does not permit a person to do it over and over again and so we could just straight up tell them you know if we could just respect each other and don't be a stranger down the street. Cause second chances does not mean I could keep you close to me again, its more of like 'you were once a chapter of my book and I respect the time we had' but Our peace always come first for us to be able to give out positive energy to those who really deserve it.

self confidence is a really big thing. in the podcast you mentioned that sometimes people are kept around because many people fear being alone and how it makes them look. so they keep those draining people around because they do not feel secure within themselves. one thing I have had to learn is to find my security within Christ. Because I realized overtime that as I found my security within the world, I was a slave to it. I cared about what people thought and felt obligated to move with every wave they moved with. But it is not supposed to be like that. So finding your confidence within Christ and keeping close to Him really helps with that obligation to stay close to people for convenience or false security.

it is very true that for some people family or friends can be toxic, and for some it's even both. I learned overtime that even if the world rejects you, Christ has not forsaken you. He is your fortress and hiding place.

I have an amazing trio but one of my friends cousin was in my class last year and was so rude to me i felt so insecure and bad just being around her but because she was in my class she joined the friend group and kept spreading lies about me that her cousin who’s my friend believed her ! Now i come home everyday begging my mom to transfer schools because shes so mean and her words hurt shes the popular girl in my school so people actually love her an believe her and not me im starting to feel very very low and like a failure but im trying everyday to be confident and stand up for myself ❤

My high school guy friend vented his feelings to me on how he likes me & would like to try and take thing further. I told him I like our relationship as friends now, and how comfortable and goofy we are & also told him all of our personalities will change in the beginning and it may not work out. Then vented and said if we ended up dating it could either go bad to where we break up and no longer remain friends. Do you want that? He said no. So we just remained friends. After having that whole convo the whole junior year we have not talked, fast forward to senior year we had every class together again. We were partnered for projects etc. so we started talking. Our personalities we had as friends came back out, we got closer once again & fast forward to now, we are still great friends buuuut! I have a husband & kids & he has a wife and kids were both with partners we truly love and now we just laugh about are high school story of us being just friends lol. Advice: if your friendship with your guy/girl friend is a true friendship, but one catches feelings, say what’s on your minds, if one doesn’t have feelings. That’s okay. If it’s a friendship you don’t wanna lose, it takes 2 to hold on to that friendship and not make things awkward after one or the others confession.
