Just s few days back, my attention was drawn towards a statement someone gave that what would India have looked like if partition did not take place. It opens up a whole lot of hypotheses. Given that India is a democracy and the presence of large muslim population, the electoral equations would have looked quite different from what it is now.

In my opinion, partition was a good decision by seeing current situations. Otherwise India could have split in many unorganised independent states more like USSR. Partition also helped in ending state wise division in India to bring democracy. Without partition, we could have extreme enemies like taliban. So in sort, it was good decision. This is just my personal opinion so nothing intended to disagree with other thoughts..
