Honestly, it is cool to see Hotwheels have the Ferrari license but I would much prefer to see MINI GT fully have the license to Ferrari. MINI GT has the skill and craftsmanship to make really nice models in 1/64 scale at a reasonable price without thinking about scalpers. Hotwheels on the other hand has subpar craftsmanship and trying to find premium models is really hard especially with scalpers. Not interested in Ferrari mainlines, but I would love to see a Ferrari Car Culture series featuring only Ferrari models!

Okay, hear me out. I stopped collecting hot wheels in 2013 to 2014. I was getting to the age where I just wasn't interested anymore, but the nail in the coffin absolutely was losing the Ferrari license. I recently got back into collecting, at the end of last year. I thought hot wheels was doing a really good job with the GM trucks so I picked up a few, and it's snowballed from there. I'm not saying that I summoned Ferrari back into the Hot Wheels roster, but I might have telepathically started collecting again at the perfect time! 😂

Big news for Hot Wheels, Collectors, but unfortunately also scalpers. I usually order full cases online, but for many collectors finding Ferraris on the pegs will only be in dreams. I really wish there was some kinda alarm that would go off every time a said scalper would enter a store . Sirens, bright lights, lasers. They would have no choice then to leave the store immediately.

Other than a few of the older castings like the 599xx I hope we get all new castings. Especially in premium as I know Ron Wong will do them up perfectly. My top 3 most wanted would be the Testarossa (OG not the 512 versions), F40, and F50. And I NEED the Testarossa in RLC.

Here's my take on the F40/F50 castings: I absolutely LOVE that F40, I was born in 1990, that casting dates back to around then, that's the F40 that I grew up with, I didn't even care for the Matchbox version with its working suspension, the Hot Wheels F40 just. Felt. Right. That said, if they were to redo the F40 casting using today's techniques, then I'd be fine with it, but that's how they'd have to do it, is to redo the F50 castings - both the hardtop and the roadster - at the same time. Otherwise, I'd love it if they'd bring back pretty much all of the old castings, the Premium Classic California, the vintage whatever open-wheel racecar (with at least one variant running on the dog dish skinnies or whatever they're called), the Enzo, the FXX - and the last two especially if we can get a Mainlines FXX K, I've had a spot set aside for one in my Creative Options cases for quite some time, now ;-)

I think none of F40, F50, Enzo, LaFerrari are well served by their existing castings, which is CRAZY when they're the halo models from each era. (that tiny side window on the Enzo!) the F80 is coming, good time to do all the super/hypercars from scratch - 512BB, 288 GTO, F40, F50, Enzo, LaFerrari, F80, and one more joker (SF90, one of those limited SP specials). love the big front engined V12s personally, so gimme an 812. I bet the Roma would make a good casting. they'll obviously do the Purosangue, lol. would love to see them lean into the race prototypes now that the 499 is a Le Mans winner. 512M, 312, F40 LM, 333SP, 499!

There was a retooled F40 in the Ferrari 5-Pack right before they dropped the Ferrari license. It was a big improvement over the previous one you showed with the engine compartment door that opens. The new one, the door does not open and they did other updates as well. I'm surprised you did not show that one ... or did I miss it?

It’s about damn time …even though I wish Round 2 / Johnny Lightning/ Auto World would have got the license because the mainline for Hot Wheels is not as great as it used to be…I only have 5 or 6 Ferraris because I was not very active at peg hunting in the mid to late 2000’s or even the 2010’s…that Black Daytona Spyder is so damn cool…definitely a holy grail collector item…I hope they do a realistic Ferrari Testarossa but I know that the scalpers and hoarders will go absolutely nuts when the new Ferrari castings are ultimately released …thanks for sharing !

John, I can't blame your disdain for the dated F40 cast, though I was kinda saddened that you missed the 2013 re-tooling of the little guy, also right before license termination. It IS an obscure 5-pack only release and easily gets overlooked. I think Speed Machines will be one of the best returns to form, and almost bet my entire next paycheck the F40 will be the featured F Car AND the chase of the set. Just hope we get other, ahem, more relevant cars this go around (unlike the old Ford GT LM and Lambo Veneno, why HW, why..) ; the C8 Stingray would be a great pick to go along with that F40, just saying.. Also, Target 2-pack, F40/F80, that's a dream mix, too. Crazy collecting times lie ahead, man!

I left a comment a month ago that Ferrari was going to return. I swear that it was because I found some at a store. Or this summer at Iowa car show. I think they need to do a Ford vs Ferrari 5 pact. The recent GT40 zemack and the Ferrari would be great along side other late 60's race cars. Pop culture could do the Magnum PI and Miami vice. They could also do a series of Ferrari race cars from each decade as a Gulf series. I would personally like to the 2001 formula 1 large tire car as super treasure hunt. Hotwheels could end the year with a complete case of nothing but Ferrari.

I love the Sega arcade/Dreamcast game based on the car so I'd love to see Mattel put out a revised version of the F355 Challenge. I admit that the old F355 Challenge isn't the greatest Ferrari casting in Hot Wheels history but I have that Ferrari Racers version in what I like to call the Shell "Black Spider-Man" livery, a livery I think looks amazing on the car. Amazing like the Amazing Spider-Man. (I'm not 100% sure whether that web livery is a Spider-Man homage but it was in stores around the same time that Spider-Man 3, featuring the black Spider-Man suit, was in theatres.) I'd love to see the other two F355 castings also revised, perhaps in Pop Culture: a red F355 Berlinetta for Goldeneye and a black F355 Spider for Fast and Furious.

For Ferraris that haven't been done before by Hot Wheels, or at least not in 1/64 scale, for newer Ferraris, I most want to see the GTC4Lusso, which is my "main" in Forza Horizon 4 because it's so much fun to drive offroad, and the Ferrari Roma, which I just think looks neat. For older Ferraris, my top pick would be the Ferrari 250 GT Lusso, which I think Mattel has put out in larger scales as a Hot Wheels "Elite" but never in 1/64, a 512 BB, another iconic Ferrari that's amazingly never been a 1/64 scale Hot Wheels, and a revised version of the Testarossa, the 1980s Hot Wheels version of which had the same narrowed-for-track proportions as the Hot Wheels F40.

They barely give a damn about their own customers :) And this better not compromise Tomica’s current use of the license. Tomica, as a whole, not just TLV, has been putting out bangers after bangers and treating the Ferrari cars with respect. That cannot be said with Hot Wheels. I hope the new castings will be worth it, but most of their older Ferrari renditions are disasters.
