The properties of the grove seem to contradict the theory. If this forest within a forest guards against winter, it doesn't seem a likely hangout for an ice dragon. Quite the contrary, if there were an ice dragon there, it would probably be perpetually frozen. If the grove truly never sees winter, it's more likely to house a regular fire dragon than an ice one.

John Snow is the "Ice Dragon" (Targaryen). The North Grove is where Bloodraven trained Bran, thus revealing the location of an "Ice Dragon" John Snow and his parentage. "A refuge against the forces of darkness during the Long Night" is exactly what we see in season 6 as the White Walkers and their army were unable to enter until Bran was marked. It is also "a place of great power for those who know how to use it" meaning Greenseers.

Video idea: How the White Walkers will be able to go south of the Wall? (The Horn of Winter will destroy the Wall, etc.) My guess is that it's going to be simply because of Bran. Just like at the Three-Eyed Raven's cave. The wrights couldn't enter the cave until the Night King touched Bran in one of his visions, but after that point the magic couldn't keep them out anymore. I think the Wall is equipped with the same kind of magic that protected the cave, so whenever Bran goes south of the Wall, that will make the wrights able to cross it as well, thanks to the connection between Bran and the Night King.

Ok, here is the deal with the North Grove that I have been yammering about for quite a while now: The North Grove is a magical place located north of the wall that is made up primarily of Ironwood trees. These trees are very special indeed as they are the polar opposite of Weirwood trees. In fact Ironwood trees have a dark blue sap that which is where "shade of the evening" comes from. Yes, it is yet another magical tree and considered to be connected or part of the Old Gods having magical properties, albeit very different ones than Weirwood trees.. it is also rumoured that Dragonsteel or Valyrian Steel contains components from Ironwood required in the manufacture of Valyrian steel. House Forester was apparently tasked by the Kings of Winter to be the guardians on the Ironwood grove in the north of the wall in case its powers would be required again. House Forester takes this task very seriously and consequently have a picture of an Ironwood tree the symbol of their house. North Grove is rumoured to be a place of magic that contains a tribe of Giants along with an actual ice dragon. They remain there as the guardians of the Hrove and whatever other magical secrets are contained within. We know about the old God trees called Ironwood trees already, but an Ice dragon makes its roost within its Grove indicating that the magical secret within the Grove besides the trees is the dragon itself? Perhaps the ice dragon is also a guardian protecting yet another yet to be revealed magical secret? That is still unknown, but what is known is that should Jon Snow or Bran ever make it to the Grove, he will find a large number of useful items to employ in the war against the Night King.

im pretty sure the north grove was the weirwood tree that the 3 eyed raven was beneath. it would make sense because the magic surrounding the tree stopped the whitewalkers until the night king grabbed bran. It could also lend some credence as to why the reed's knew where to bring bran. im guessing the reed's know the forresters in some way or were at least informed of the north grove secret. as far as the ice dragon goes, i think its in the black pond or in the wall.

I Was reading the book and came across this part from Davos point of view and it mentioned a HORN owned by house Celtigar. Do you think it's the horn that can wake the giants or ice dragons or any other creatures? Below is the extract from the book. If the North Grove "defends against winter" then why would it have an ice dragon that would be allied to the Night King (the long winter) I doubt if we will ever see an ice dragon in the show; I think out best hope is that one of Dannys dragons die and is raised as a zombie-ice dragon, like how the Lich King has Frost Wyrms in WoW (this would also reduce the 3-headed dragon to a dragon with 2 heads (Danny and Jon) and remove the Tryion secret targarian subplot)

This polar bear we saw in the North Grove might explain the wight polar bear we saw in Season 7. This could mean that in some way the North Grove has been breached by the Night King and his army. It is also possible that he could have seen something there that made him find out that ice dragons exist which might have helped him in resurrecting Viserion. This theory probably sounds stupid, but it's just something that crossed my mind.

Maybe valerian steel most be heated by regular dragons then rapidly cooled by ice dragons to make a very strong blade which would usually be brittle but when preparred this way it's ok

In the book ice dragon written by George RR Martin, the ice dragon befriended a girl who was as cold as ice, so that could go either way. It could be connected to game of thrones, or its own story either way it's a good short story.

this is such a great theory. If it turns out that house Forrester is indeed integral to the main story, the video games were a perfect way to introduce them. Just as none of the greater houses who we follow in the show would really care too much about what happens to a minor house like house Forrester, many fans of the show/books would have completely missed the clues because they didn't bother to play the game. Imagine how cool it would be to see Gared and co. make an appearance in the show!

Hey Harpy.. GRRM had a livejournal post before about "Iron from Ice" (inviting fans to try the game) and when asked about the game's backstory & lore on House Forrester.. he said it's not book canon and he wasn't even consulted about its lore. So no, I don't think the North Grove or anything from the game would be relevant to asoiaf or GoT. Also, there is no indication that the Forresters are significant in the story. They were mentioned in ADWD, IIRC a female Glover sent a Forrester (along w/ others from some wolfswood clans) as guide/scout for Stannis' march from Deepwood Motte to Winterfell, after he drove off & captured the Ironborns that took the Glover's keep. The Forresters seem to be expert hunters, trackers & knows the Wolfswood very well and If they were important in the story, GRRM would've mentioned them more in the novels (even in passing) but he hasn't. He has full control over the asoiaf universe, I doubt he'll adapt lore completely created by someone else & use it on his narrative.

Alright here me out on this. 1st, I love your vids. 2nd, I saw a vid you did about what may happen with Sams time at the citadel and what happened in the books with a faceless man trying to steal a key. I cannot find the vid anywhere now. Anyway, shortly after I watched a vid from someone else (That I didn't care for) asking "What does the Night king want?" and it clicked. What if before turning into the Night king he knew what was in the citadel and that's what he's after? It sounded like it might be a dragon egg. If so, what if the Night king and a few others know that Dragons are born of those two elements? Ice and fire. A lot of talk of ice dragons and we have the normal fire dragons right now and we know how they were hatched. What if the Night king has a similar plan to hatch an ice dragon very much like Danny hatched hers but with extreme cold. And that's why a predominantly cold race f creatures would want to head south and kill everyone in their way. Otherwise, what is their end game? Without an ice dragon, eventually everyone will be dead but they'd still have to fend off invaders from other lands and when winter changes to spring their power on the south would diminish. having an ice dragon would make them so much more powerful.

I think we will see an Ice Dragon but it won't be hiding somewhere, it will be one of Dany's Dragon's which has been turned by the Night King. There's a balance in this universe between Fire and Ice - in fact it's the title of the whole series. Dany, Dragons, The Lord of Light, the Red Priestesses- these are all beings of Fire. The White Walkers, the Wights, The Children of the Forest, these are all being of Ice. Both sides are neither good nor evil- remember the Lord of Light is just as ruthless as the Great Other. Both even offer Resurrection, the Whitewalkers reanimate the dead in to mindless zombies, the Lord of Lgiht does something very similar it's just not as obvious - Jon Snow is basically a Wight - it's just he was renimated with Fire, not Ice. I think the saviour of Westeros is going to be a balance between Fire and Ice which will come in the form of Jon and Dany's Child. All the power of Ice/Starks and Fire/Targaryen. I definitely think the end of this story is going to be a "bringing balance to chaos" type of resolution.

One of the danny's dragon dies and season 7 ends with the dragon opening its eye to blue. may be brandon the builder did not create the wall. but negotiated with the white walkers to build it. not for the mankind to protect itself from whitewalkers but white walkers to protect themselves from valeria. ofcourse brandon stark being bran stark of now.

Theory: I feel that azor Ahai made peace with the white walkers and the white walkers put up the wall and Azor Ahai put some humans north of the wall so that the white walkers can reproduce, may have been all that they wanted. The Nights Watch has been killing the wildlings thus stopping the reproduction of white walkers. Some wildlings as we've seen in the show provide babies for the White Walkers and some even lay with white walkers to create half white half human babies. It looks like the White Walkers are taking revenge because the humans unknowingly broke the truce deal that Azor Ahai made with the White Walkers if there ever was one.

I'm not sure if you have heard the theory about the White Walkers and friends going around the wall instead of through it which might not be possible. The sea south of the wall/land freezes over and the WW and their undead simply walk it on it around the Wall. In fact, one reason they have waited 8,000 years is they needed this super winter/small ice age so that water would freeze. If you look at our ice ages you see it happening with England and there is a theory that early man could have made it to America when the ice went from Spain to the US. But looking at the picture I've seen, the ice does not come down, it freezes making a land ice bridge from north of the Wall to that island and then south past the Wall again. So maybe it is very cold but not Ice Age cold. So what would be able to freeze over a small area of a very cold sea...... How about, an Ice Dragon?

Danny is losing one of her dragons on a battle on a frozen lake. The Night King will probably wake him up as a White Walker :)

All of the ice dragons are dead, and the lich king is just biding his time until he has enough power to raise one from it's icy tomb to fight for the white walkers.

What if the ice dragons were trapped in the wall and when the horn that was found with the glass is used it awakens the ice dragons and that's how the wall falls

Neither GRRM nor D&D know or care about anything that happened in this game. If I were to write a fan fiction Got story, events in it would have the same impact on the books and show as this game will

They just created an ice dragon in s07 e06 from Danny's dragon. Idk if it was viserion or raeghal

it is to late to introduce such things into the show but it would have been fun to see danys fire dragons against one huge ice dragon :D
