This is a station that used to have a staff bar, i have been told that it used to be very common for officers to drink in these staff bars and then drive home. But colleagues were afraid to report/arrest them, the reason I am told was because it would then be impossible for them to work in that area after. Where i live now a prolific drink driver was let off over and over again. The one day an officer stood up and dealt with him. That officer had to go work elsewhere.

People are allowed to look into cars - Looking into a car is NOT a crime. In fact, members of the public should be encouraged to look into cars as they may see evidence of a crime which could then be reported to the police!.... For example, maybe some body parts, or weapons, or drugs, or a tied up child, or any manner of things may be seen - and the member of the public seeing such a thing could ASSIST the police by reporting such evidence of a crime!
