I've been saying this for years and with the release of the new odd-eyes monster it seems likely to happen: pendulum ritual archetype where it basically combines the megaliths and the vendred together. Basically you can place any rit-pend monster in the pend zone and use it as a rit spell by sending it to the extra deck and rit summoning a monster from hand by using the materials from hand, field, or face-up extra deck. To explain further what I'm looking for: all the monsters have an on-summon effect, a sent to grave for rit summon effect, AND a send from extra-deck to grave for rit summon effect. Basically no matter what you always have some way to rit summon and you will almost always have extra deck fuel for the summon. The only restriction to the effect is that the monster being used as the rit spell cannot be used for that specific rit summon. I have been wanting an archetype like this for years and I believe that it wouldn't be too op unless konami does the classic "too op boss monster that just so happens to also be too easy to summon"

Notable cards in set include Farfa, Malebranche of the Burning Abyss, Qliphort Monolith, Uni-Zombie, Nephe Shaddoll Fusion, and a card that would bolster Satellarknight to combat the Burning Abyss Shaddoll meta, Stellarknight Constellar Diamond. In this series, both Nyhmnim and myself will be opening 24 booster packs or 1 box of a core Yu-Gi-Oh! booster set. We will build a deck and play a best 2 out of 3, and the winner will receive a small prize to upgrade their deck. HOWEVER! Each episode, we will open another box of the next set that was released moving in chronological order, constantly upgrading our decks before dueling each other at the end of each episode. This is the Yu-Gi-Oh! Progression Series.

I love ritual monsters however the condition that they are placed in the main deck is stupid given the fact that we now have link monsters. I know, the mechanic was introduced at the initial stage of the game, basically to make them relatively as hard to summon as fusions. Initially you needed specific monsters and polymerization (which can be used to summon any fusion monster) however you got the fusion monster in the extra deck. For Rituals you needed specific ritual card (that can only be use to summon specific ritual monster) but you didn't have to use specific monsters, only level requirement however for that convenience rituals are not in the extra deck. How I would redesign the mechanic: rituals are placed in the extra deck, however each monsters require a specific ritual spell (as initially was planned, so if you want 5 different ritual monsters, you have to run 5 different ritual spells in your main deck) and monsters can be tributed only from the field (also if there is a boss ritual monster, the tributed monsters shall be of specific type, attribute etc. so that they wouldn't be so easy to summon).

Also played Mind Augus FTK Mill. Eventually, with the introduction of Master Rule 3 and the 5 card starting hand, i came to hate yugioh, and so i stopped playing. While i still hate the community here in Mexico City, and i don't want anything to do with it, i did build Gishki in Master Duel. It rather obvious Ritual and Fusion are not like the different type of monster and summon mechanics that came later in the game. They are clearly made to be narrative climatic moment in the duels of the manga and anime. Of course when they got added to the actual real life TCG they were pretty much identical to how they worked in the series, and that's why they are so clunky and inconsistent, they were meant to be climax of a duel in the story first and actually usable cards in the game second. Later mechanics were made thinking first in the TCG and secon in the anime, and it shows.

I'm surprised they didn't do Drytron (or something similar) earlier, always using levels is boring. I expect rituals to be unique (and somewhat clunky) ways to summon monsters, not always synchro with extra steps.

Its a shame you didn’t include Black Luster and its Gaia and Chaos support to include in the topic.

Still my favorite summoning mechanic... Too bad there won't be good ritual decks that aren't disgusting... Like yeah dryatron is meta and all but but I'm not a fan... Just give me more nepthys support or relinquished support, or demise support... I don't want new rituals I want my old rituals to be good again... BLS could do it... Also... I wouldn't mind a pendulum ritual deck. They could use the pendulum effect as ritual spell to tribute themselves and when the ritual dies it doesn't go to the extra deck first but to an available pendulum scale so you could ritual again.
