I've got an Eerie Childhood Memory, it is not as creepy as Being sent to the literal "Upside-Down" or encountering a Forest Monster like those other ones. But it's creepy to think about the implications, most of this is recalled from memory so it may not make exact sense. I was only 4 or 5 (according to my mother), one random day while my father was at work and my mother was doing typical adult stuff like laundry. I followed my mother into the hallway of our home at the time, which connected my bedroom to a bathroom and my parent's room, with then connected to a laundry room. As I passed my old bedroom, I swore I thought I saw my mother in my room doing something with a wall outlet, young me didn't question it or anything but for whatever reason, I had the idea to "Stick Keys in socket". After I went to my parents' room I found my mother sitting there on her bed folding clothes, I remember asking for the keys, and she for whatever reason gave them to me, I guess she figured a toddler wasn't going to do much with metal keys or something. But I took the keys and ran to my room, walked over to the socket and stuck one of the keys in... I don't remember much other than my mother finding me laying in the hall dazed, and I remember her calling my dad upset about the key in the wall, according to her I apparently fried that socket and nearly caused a fire. She was so upset to the point of tears, at the time I didn't understand why though. Nor why they hurried me to the hospital afterward, more so when the Doc's said I was perfectly fine. The wall socket was later replaced and they never let me near the keys again until I was older and frankly smarter. As an adult, the whole thing feels weird. Not only was I potentially a step away from electrocuting myself to death as a toddler, but why did I see my mother in my room, when she was actually in her room? How and why did I get the ridiculous idea to stick keys in a socket? Why did my mother give her very young toddler keys, she isn't a bad parent nor stupid and she'd never let me do something like sticking keys in a socket! And what the hell happened to me when I stuck the keys in, did I get zapped and I wandered into the hall, only to pass out from the shock? It's really creepy to think about. We talk about it occasionally, and they laugh at it all the time. But when I analyze it, it seems like something out of a bad horror story or something. Addendum: Just talked to my mother about the whole story. According to her she never gave me the keys, she has no clue how I got them. Yay, even creepier...

@@Weaver0x00 As I said, most of this is recalled from memory so it may not make exact sense. Aside from that, ik the socket was fried and had to be replaced because I distinctly remember watching the electrition replace it. Maybe I did stick 2 keys in, I don't fully remember exactly since it was so long ago.

This is some of my favorite horror, the kind that seems weird but innocent enough at the time, but when you think back on it the more sinister it becomes. The kind of horror that can make me paranoid about all the close or strange encounters I might have had but either didn't notice or don't remember.

I remember in my old house, at around 3 pm the door would sound exactly like someone unlocking it, deadbolt and everything. When I'd check, no signs of anything having been moved or changed. Once we moved out I found out my mom heard it too, but we both just thought we were imagining things up until that point

I had a very similar ear infection (7:20) when I was young as well; I couldn't sleep and everything felt "warped". I had a small radio on my windowsill and I would imagine that it was playing sounds that I couldn't hear, but it still gave me creepy vibes. I also have a faint memory of that room without anything but a bed in it, just me laying on a mattress surrounded by a wooden frame. I could feel a strong pressure in my head and a tinnitus-type ringing. When I looked at my walls it looked as if the room was getting farther and closer without actually moving. (it still happens to me today occasionally) I don't remember if it actually happened, it probably didn't, but I sometimes have faint callbacks to that moment.

When I was a child my family was stationed at a rural air base in southern England. The house we lived in was fairly large, especially for England, and it had a rather large stair case that went half way up towards the front if the house, had a landing, then the second half went up the opposite direction with a portion of the upstairs hall looking down over the stairs and lower hall. Built into the lower half of the stairs was a storage closet with a half height wooden door. One night I woke up to use the bathroom and decided to go downstairs to get a drink. When I was walking back from the kitchen I heard knocking directly ahead of me. It was coming from inside the storage space. Now, I knew there wasn't space for a person in there because the closet was packed with stuff. However it was very deliberate knocking, like someone would knock on a door to get someone to open it. I began walking to it slowly. When I get within reach I stopped and began to reach for the knob. Just before I touched the knob I felt a hand on my shoulder and clearly heard a woman's voice say "don't". This startled me and I turned around to see nothing. I just went back upstairs and when I got to the top the knocking stopped. It was probably just a dream, or a dream like state, like hyponogogia, because I was still very groggy. Still remember it clearly over 30 years later. Anyway, your stories smell different squig. It's a good thing.

I remember when i had about 7 years of age, christmass just happened so i was excited to see the presents. Before i opened my presents my parents told me to wait until they came back from work, And that my nanny would take care of me, so after they left i went to ask my nanny if i could go outside to play, I went and that, later when i came back i was dirty so my nanny told me to take a bath, while i was sitting in the water, a man with a bad disguise of a tiger came in on me, i had never seen him, he told me santa forgot to give me a special present with a singing tone, i was in shock i could not talk, he then place the present in the toilet and left, i stood without moving for what it felt like an eternity. I was never able to see what was in the present as when my parents came and i told them what happened, they throwed the present away and try asking more questions, im still wondering what was in that present and who he was.

You must play Gmod LiDAR. It's usually a pretty short experience but it's very unique and fun. Download the addon LiDAR on the workshop, enable the game mode, and choose any map. LiDAR is how many computers such as self driving cars see the world and the mod simulates that. Just make sure the map you are on has NPC Navmesh. It's very important for all the features to work correctly.

I think I was seven or eight at the time, but I remember seeing a tornado when I was a kid. We knew there was a severe weather warning for our area, and were preparing to go down into the basement, when I decided to go into the kitchen for a glass of water. As I turned to face the faucet, I glanced out of the window in front of me, and there it was. I remember watching it swirl down out of the clouds, perhaps two or three miles away, and slowly making it's way to the ground. I yelled for mom, and when she came running in we both just stared at it in silence for what felt like an eternity. Mom snapped out of it first and told me to go get my brother and our flashlights, and she ran outside to warn dad. We made our way to the basement, but dad kept going back up to rearrange our vehicles between the driveway and the garage to try and protect them as best he could. I remember being terrified, because every time he opened the front door the wind was louder and the sky was darker. I once asked about our outdoor cat, and he simply said that she'd be fine (she was), and eventually stayed down in the basement. In the end, we just had some tree limbs and shingles down with no major damage. The part that still haunts me is seeing the funnel come down, something I've never seen since, and how eerily quiet it was when me and Mom were staring at it. Just grey skies, flailing trees, a big grey whirlwind reaching up to the heavens...and silence. I also got attacked by our neighbors' vicious dog when I was four, but I literally had no memoery

Dumb touch button placement. I meant to say I was also attacked by a large dog when I was four, but I have absolutely no memory of this. I did have a fear of large dogs as a kid, but I never knew that this event had happened until I mentioned my childhood fear to my grandma and she told me.

I woke up in complete darkness once as a child, no light from under my door, no light from the window, nothing. I couldn't find my way out of my room, which was very small, and yet it seemed no matter which way I reached out there was nothing, I called out but nobody came, after what seemed like forever, my mother opened my door. it had been daytime the whole time as we lived in the north and the sun rises at 5am and sets at 10-11 pm in the summer, I don't know how my curtain on my window was somehow able to block all of the light. I slept with my door slightly ajar for years after that

My cousin and I, when we were about 10 and 13 respectively, were playing DBZ: Burst Limit on my Xbox in my living room at about 2am. We had the volume pretty low since my parents were in the room next door. Midway through one of our fights, we heard a deep, nasally breathing like Vader coming from my kitchen. I paused the game and asked him if he heard that. He responded, "Yeah, I did. Maybe it's your brother or something." (impossible since he was asleep and work the next morning) He kept his glancing toward the kitchen, slightly fearful. Then about 2 min later, we heard it again but it was much louder. So we paused again and we were both getting serious chills through our spine, sitting staring at each other expectantly. An hour later into playing, we heard maniacal laughing coming from the same area in the kitchen again, but we didn't dare go to that area. Instead, I went to wake my parents up and my cousin testified that he heard the same noises. Of course, my parents were upset, but I can never forget that.

About the VHS one, I immediately thought of the same thing your mom did whenever this happened. That just sounds like standard tape distortion. Creepy as hell, but just a fact of the technology being susceptible to distortions due to warping and damage. The parts after that sound really weird though. They could've been unrelated, and something happened while she was leaving with the tape, and she just set it down. There's no way to know that the tape had any relation. My best guess as to why she would take it away? Maybe she was worried it would happen again and wake you up or something? This is something I don't think will ever be answered though. It's so weird, and it leaves all the context up to the imagination. I also relate a lot to the ones about dark and hallucinations of sorts, and the statement that you "can't trust your own senses". I have nyctophobia, and I experience hallucinations in the dark a lot. With the amount of dark figures standing in rooms, that eventually fizzle out once I realize they're fake, I'm pretty sure someone could actually break into my house and I wouldn't know. When people stay over, it's the worst, because they'll say something like "how do you sleep with all this light in your room??" and I'll have to turn the lights off. It's definitely a lot better with someone else in the room, because then I can immediately identify that some things are just hallucinations (like if nobody else acknowledges them), but it's still so annoying.

I remember in my childhood, although not as much as yours, there were also very strange moments I remember very well, when I was about 10 years old, sometimes at night I was haunted by a very strange phenomenon. Sometimes when I went to bed, and when I started to fall asleep, someone would pull my blanket down, and every time I would get up abruptly and notice that there was nobody and nothing near my bed. Sometimes, in the same place, I would feel someone touching me. It happened in a particular year, then it stopped But the interesting thing is that it also happened to my sister who was sleeping not too far away from me, I remember her waking up sharply screaming as she felt someone pulling and touching her. I still think about it sometimes, and I can't find an explanation for what it could be

I had tons of nightmares as a kid, sometimes woke up under the bed, often woke up turned around completely. A reoccuring dream I had was that I was standing by the window upstairs, it is a cloudy and grey day. I see a white sheet on the ground, it flies up seemingly by unseen forces and wraps itself around me tightly, suffocating me. I always woke up from that nightmare rolled up in my covers like a burrito or a joint :)

As someone who doesn't believe in ghosts and such, some of these seem kind of silly, especially the first one and the one with the ghost. (And by the way, the circumstance seems very conducive to sleepwalking.) But there was a strange occurrence when I was about 7, mine and my brother's bedroom door opened partially and closed extremely fast, it seemed like someone was scouting our house and didn't expect us to be in that room. And another time, (notably after the aforementioned occurrence) there was someone walking through our room very slowly, I couldn't make out who it was because all the light was coming from the opposite side of the room, so it was just a very average black figure. I must have blacked out from fear, because I don't even remember him leaving the room. Thinking back on it now, it was probably my father, but our neighbor owned the house, (so probably had access, this would also explain the first occurrence) and was already a bit of a weird guy. And by the way, we asked our dad the morning after each incident, he denied that he was a part of either of them. He is a bit of an alcoholic, though, so he might've just forgotten. My brother and dad had the same weird dream around the same time, so that was also quite strange.

Listening to this reminded me of a memory I had many years back, it was nighttime in my family's home and we were all sleeping in the same room, with my parents and sibling, they had all already fallen asleep and I had just gone to join them, at the time I was essentially sleeping on a futon/mattress laid on the floor and the way I settle into a sleeping position with something that low is I essentially go on all fours before going on my back, as I was doing so, on my hands and knees and looking away from the windows, I blinked and suddenly the room was bathed in light. Apparently somehow in that instant I blinked and night had evidently turned to day, with daylight streaming through the windows, I was still in the exact same position, head raised towards the door and on my hands and knees with no perceptible change, I was of course, rather confused, and woke up my family to find they didn't notice anything wrong, supposed I had fallen asleep and just woke up having forgotten the time between, except I am certain I'm not in the habit of falling asleep so suddenly and in such conditions that my head, arms and legs remain still throughout. I still have no idea nonsense transpired that day, one instant it was night and another day, I still remember that even my thoughts were completely uninterrupted when it happened. My friends joke that i had been abducted that night but I was in a city big and busy enough that if there were any aliens, you'd probably have enough witnesses to populate a few smaller towns

A "reality glitch", maybe? I don't put much stock in the idea of us living in a simulation, personally, but reality sure doesn't seem perfectly structured or "solid" to me. Time itself is a construct created to help humans understand the world around us, and the ways the phenomenons we made the concepts of minutes and hours to describe work aren't particularly well understood... Maybe the universe just shrugs sometimes, and we just have to hold on for the ride.
@Idlefd
@Idlefd 2 жыл бұрын
@@commentercommentypants7904 I don't either, the simulation idea doesn't make sense when one thinks about it enough. In this case if it were a glitch in reality, it isn't something that would revolve around 1 individual surely. Otherwise, I've thought before about how does one determine if we were in a simulation, we'd need some kind of way to determine it was a wrong reality, ala a contradiction between it and real reality, except, a contradiction requires a comparison to see, and if we did have a counterpoint to compare it to, well the whole issue is null and void in that case.
@SpinoRexy733
@SpinoRexy733 2 жыл бұрын
@@Idlefd The problem with how you're thinking about it is, that you call the simulation the "wrong reality" when if we are in a simulation, then "God" or whatever higher power that may or may not exist is like the developer and we're the npc's and just like how npc's are made for the game that their made in, the same can be said for us. And just like how npc's can't get out of the game, neither can we. But that doesn't make it the "wrong reality" when most likely the "real reality" as you call it may be unlivable to us, since our "developer(s)" could live in a environment that's uninhabitable to us. And if we are in a simulation then it's possible that we could only exist in said simulation, just like how npc's can only exist in the games their made in. The afterlife (if their is one) can be like the equivalent of porting npc's to Garry's Mod from the games their made in.

I have no idea what they want or why they do it, but somehow i know that they are here to hurt me. I can sorta feel their presence, its like a feeling of impending doom/dread that just suddenly fills me. Its like you know something bad is about to happen. But most of the time, they dont just appear right in front of me, they sorta stalk me from behind corners, dark spots, and so on. Before i rearranged my furniture so i can see my entire room, there was that big closet blocking the view to a big part of my room, and i swear i sometimes saw a big maybe 1m tall white face just peeking around the corner. And it just darted away when i turned my head when i saw it in the corner of my eye. Another time i went to get some snacks late at night, and i saw some hazy outline down the stairs. Like on a really hot day when the air is kinda "waving" around, thats how it looked. I thought it was nothing and just continued walking down the stairs and right through that spot where that weird wavy air thingy was. As soon as i walked over that spot where i saw it floating, i just felt this massive feeling of dread, demise, and panic. Like when you know that you just got caught doing something super dumb and you know you will get punished. I just booked it to the kitchen and just took a few minutes to process what just happened. Having to walk back through that spot wasnt vey fun either, even if that thing was gone and i didnt feel anything weird on the way back. I also started sleeping with a thin bedsheet spread over my body like a little tent to sorta hide when i sleep because i am safe when they cant see me. or at least i hope i am, it worked so far. Because whenever i am in bed, theres this black foggy mist creature standing right next to my bed, just waiting for me to stop hiding or to find a way to see me so it can attack. so i always triple check that this little tent cover thingy actually covers everything and that theres no open spot where you can see inside from my room (soffocation is not a risk in there, its just a thin layer of fabric). It also feels like a gamble every time i have to poke my hand out of my little safety tent to grab my water bottle or my phone. Because some day, a hand will grab my wrist and pull me out of my safety tent. Well, i wrote quite an essay there, but i guess people wont mind if they like reading about it. If theres more than a few people interested in that, i guess i can join the discord and share a bit more, even if i am not sure how much stuff i have thats worth telling

My dad and me went outside to talk about his childhood memories last month. Back when he was young, he sometimes hear an weird childlike-crying sound nearby somewhere in their home or even an white figure he sees when he's going home at night, well because i live in Philippines there are many kind of these things being encountered. The most terrifying part of his experience was there's an White Lady peeking through under the bed then after, it goes through the front of his bed, he prayed and when he opened his eyes it was gone. The last part is when we both go in vacation on my grandma's house, around 1am of midnight we both heard a knocking sound though the window of the house, we both ignored that then my dad blessed me and my brother then we both sleep. When my dad is asleep, he told us the next morning that he can't sleep well because he was dreaming something and he said a child and a woman. Another thing that my brother said was he saw the child in his mind whispering in his ears and he did even saw the figure of the child, it was creepy that me and my dad even spook out more. Soon after that, we leave and go home. and that is why my dad always says to me always pray before going bed. There are many things that my dad experienced that time i won't share more right now. Also greetings there Lib.

It can all be explained scientifically. I believe in God and Jesus as a Christian, but I don't believe in mythical creatures, ghosts, etc. And early memories can change a lot during your life, to the point they become a totally different story when compared to what it once was. I have memories from my early childhood that have changed a lot, and my parents and other people confirm that what remember from these old memories is not exactly what happened.

@@TheBrokenRec You may have a mental illness, you should check with a doctor. The majority of people live their entire lives without experiecing things like that, so it should tell you that something inside your brain may be faulty. Make sure it's also not carbon dioxide poisoning, it can cause disorientation and confusion. Could also just be nothing, you simply mistook something normal for something supernatural, it can happen right after you wake you, or if you are scared (any little normal thing may seem like a big deal when you are scared). You can also confuse and mix recent memories, could just be a memory confusion that is troubling you (although unlikely for something that happened recently). What i think you experienced is just confusing something trivial and normal with weird stuff, if you could tell me what you think you experienced then it would be easier to pin point what happened.

A house I lived in had this long hall leading to the front door. It was creepy because when you walked into the house it felt like something at the end of the hall moved out of view. When I moved to Iowa I had the job of packing boxes. I spent all day packing up boxes. I finished up and went to walk out the front door with one of the boxes. Just as I was about to leave the room when something quickly ran past me in the hall leading to the front door. It was yellow but I couldn’t tell what it was. It was going too fast. Freaked me out.

context for this comment: my room door is across my living room from my little sister's. now you may read. when I was probably around 9 or 10, I had just finished watching funny youtube videos on my phone past my bedtime. I was either thirsty or had to go to the toilet, I don't remember stuff that well (not really to good in school cuz of this), so I went out of my room when I saw what looked like a little girl (but too big to be my sister, maybe that thing was the height of a 6 or 7 yr old, while my sister was really young) who was completely black (as in the color, not the skin tone). This, understandably, freaked the hell out of me, so I immediately back-stepped into my room, locking the door as I did. whatever I wanted to do originally, I just told myself that I didn't need to do it anymore. I just tried to fall asleep and forget what I saw. I've only ever shared this story online because I feel like no one in my family will believe me. I still don't know how to deal with this but some other guy asked if she was hot which gave me a good laugh (also I have no clue, it was like midnight and I'm near-sighted so good luck getting an accurate answer from me).

I remember one small strange thing in past. When I was passing a 3rd class in school, I noticed that my classmates were talking about something. It was already a Music subject in a schools office near the emergency exit number three. And one of the classmates said that he saw the "Eye" in the darkness of the double doors. I was curios about this thing and looked there as everybody else and... I saw this thing it looked like a single eye that was coloured in some green and red colours and in the middle there was something like a cat pupil... Someone said that this is our imagination, or its the sun goes through the door (but on the other side it was perfectly shut there wasnt any way that the suns rays want reach out) but there were too much people that seen exatly what I saw. I still cant understand what it was. And in addition only guys could see this thing and girls not. This was so strange. Do you know something like this in mythology guys?

I remember in elementary school like 5th grade, a small group of my classmates said they heard a woman crying in the bathroom, and when they went to check it; nothing was there. then they told the entire classroom that a woman was crying in the bathroom but there's no one in it, at this point everyone in the class knew about it and then not too long later we heard it again, the entire classroom was just freaking out while one of our brave classmates decided to check it out; alas, there was nothing there, he closed it and went back to his seat and then it started crying again. our teacher finally arrived and just said "you guys are trying to prank me aren't you" then we told him that we weren't and that there actually was something crying in the bathroom. he went to check and nothing was there; then he fully thought we were pranking him, then not too long after he sits down on his teacher desk, the woman in the bathroom started crying again, one of our classmates pointed it out to the teacher and the entire class went quiet to listen to the whimpers, and then our teacher this time heard it for himself, he was like wtf you guys weren't joking, he went to open the bathroom door again; but nothing was there. We never found out what it actually was, the next day it was normal; though I think it might just have been the pipes of the faucet, but I really don't know. Also at this time, our upperclassmen just 1 grade above us were doing the charlie charlie challenge, this was at the time where all those horror 3 am videos were happening. and so the students below them including us were influenced by this and my classmates wanted to try it out, when teachers caught wind of this happening they would tell everyone to not do the challenges, since we were in a catholic private school. Though I'm not sure which event occurred first, the woman crying in our class bathroom or the horror summon of demon challenges.

I had one where, me, my sister and my mother were living at or grandmother's house (my mom's mom) this was about 19 years ago as of last month. The 3 of us had to sleep in the same cramped room on 3 beds, one time, I randomly woke up and saw some nondescript person standing above us (the beds were low to the ground) they were dressed up in what looked like a bathrobe or something, I was like "fuck that" covered myself up with a blanket and somehow fell asleep. Its not until a a couple years later that I talked to my sister about it that she revealed she saw the same shit on the same night at the same time.

For some reason I can't seem to remember my childhood correctly. some of it seems to be mixed with weird dreams I had, other parts of it were just deja vu (which seems to happen quite often), and other parts were just messy? (like... not correct order). like... I dunno. I remember walking down the creek and getting poked by a rosebush. There are no rosebushes in the creek and there never were. I've only gone in the creek maybe twice in my life. I don't remember why I have that memory. Sometimes I think i've already experienced someone. which is odd. not sure why. I also remember people coming into my room a few times even though no one ever did. I can't tell if I was having a lucid dream or not. then again, I often got sick at this age and had weird fevers. I had nightmares and I think I hallucinated. I remember crawling into holes that, after looking at these holes now, I don't think I could ever fit in it. Im not sure why I remember crawling in them. for some reason I remember the scale of things incorrectly. when I think about people I know of in the past, I seem to remember them weirdly. one particular kid I remember had some weird blue eyes. They were blue eyes, but they were kind of weird. dunno how to explain it. Anyways, for some reason I remember him weirdly. His eyes in particular... they always creeped me out. his weird face. I didn't like him. he was weird to look at. I still remember his body. super weird. idk. some weird kid. idk

this may have something to do with my sleeping problems. I've always had sleeping problems and maybe that has something to do with some of my memory problems. I forget what I can't remember... like... the general whatnot. I don't remember what category that is. I remember what is relevant to the current situation at hand. I don't remember anything too insignificant. Sometimes I forget drinking water right after drinking it. I feel like this has something to do with my insomnia maybe. but idk. maybe its something else. I'll probably find out later.

One time, back in my old house, I was on my way to walk downstairs (not to the full basement, the house had 4 levels) probably to play burnout or Minecraft or something, and i saw what looked like a dark figure of a gorilla walking upstairs. Another time, much more recently, there were some teens walking down the sidewalk, talking loudly and teenage stuff, you know, while i was watching youtube inside. Me, being the stupid person i am, thought it would be funny to t-pose in my window with the light on. They somehow saw me, and shined their phone’s flashlight right in my face. I’m still confused on how they noticed me. I was standing in my second story window and was quite far away from them. A bit of an older story, we were driving to Vancouver, and stopped at an A&W for lunch. As we were waiting for our food, i could have sworn i saw a food bag move across the counter by itself. Yet another time, me and my dad were going ice fishing, and when we parked the truck, i saw writing in the snowbank saying “The chicken was gay” i’m not sure what this means, or if it’s paranormal at all, but it was really confusing to me. Ok, this next one almost definitely isn’t paranormal, but it still creeped me out. I was sitting on my couch, watching youtube, when I started hearing screaming outside. It was almost definitely coyotes, considering that we live in a forested area, but it still spooked me.

Oh yeah, 2 more. One time, during elementary school, I was in choir and a code yellow or something came. We were all quite calm, but one of the students said “what if it’s a giant eyelash?” I don’t know why it was so specific, but kids are weird you know. This next one is from my dad. He was biking home work through the cemetery (if I remember correctly), considering that it was safer then the highway right beside it, and this guy on a dirt bike started playing chicken with him. After that, he stopped biking home at night.
