some tips for more immersion: 1. somewhere in the settings you can enable full body visibility. 2. all the screens (mission screen, shop screen, etc.) are touchscreens. some tips for gameplay: 1. keep empty ammoboxes on you, they sell for 3$ each. 2. use a knife to destroy the cores from the fragments. 3. you can see how much ammo is in a mag while in the menu that shows the condition.

Love this game so much! Couple of QOL tips: 1) There is a setting to turn on a visibly body. 2) Explore everything. Look in every room, under tables, etc. 3) The anomalies will try and trick you by repeating voices they have heard. 4) Keep a box of ammo on you. You will end up having to repack magazines in the field. 5) Plan for a trip. Know when and where you're going. Plot a route, and plan for any additional buildings/locations you want to visit on the way to your objective. Pack ammo and food. 6) Know your weight. On your bag there is a weight readout. Green means you're fine, yellow/orange means your movement is reduced. You move slower and run out of energy quicker. Red means you're overweight. You can no longer run and have to slowly walk around. The weight also refers to everything on your person and in your hands. 7) Your detector has 2 ways of letting you know where the hidden anomalies are. The first is the light at the bottom. When it turns bright green, you are facing the correct direction. The clicking is how close you are to it. The faster the clicks, the closer you are to it. Then the light is green, and it is clicking fast, activate the detector to reveal the anomaly. 8) Magazines can be cleaned using a can of oil spray and a toothbrush. If your gun gets too degraded, it can malfunction at the worst time. 9) The pouch on your left hip is called a dump pouch. It is commonly used to quickly put an empty magazine away, so you don't lose it. When you go to reload, hold the reload button to eject the magazine and hold it at the bottom of the gun so you can grab it easier. 10) There is a button that should provide info on items you are holding. Use this info to get a better understanding of the items and how damaged they are as well as how much ammo is in a gun or magazine. 11) There might be a setting that vibrates your controller when your hand is on something you can grab. This makes grabbing mags off your chest rig easier. 12) The darker the enemy appears, the more difficult it is to take down. 13) Almost every cabinet and drawer can be opened. 14) Bodies of people on the ground have items next to them sometimes. 15) Clear an area, then loot. 16) All items can be sold. You have to decide what you want vs what you need. 17) The loops on the side of the shotgun allows for shells to be mounted for easier access. Any questions, feel free to ask. Best of luck out there Stalker.

Just FYI, you can turn on full body in settings. its a little more immersive to me than just floating hands but its honestly just preference. Hope you like this game!
@matthrew Жыл бұрын
Quick tips: 1. In settings you can turn on full body for that extra immersion. 2. The weird black blobs, whicb produce the droning noise, are respawning your enemies. 3. You can hold the button for dropping magazines, so it will be halfway out of your gun, and you eont need to drop it at all. 4. A knife is a great thing if you want to kill tbe floating orb left after shooting the fragments 5. You can smoke the ciggaretes, they dont seem to do much but it looks cool 6. You can interact with all of the tablets in the base by touching them, not just clicking with the trigger. 7. In replies to this comment, there are things i missed and am too lazy to put here

Edit: this post was about The Tide, you got there in the tutorial. So glad you’re playing this. There are cycles in the area that will respawn enemies. You can track when it will happen near the map. Until a new cycle any killed enemies will remain gone. Also, I’ll try to avoid spoilers here: if *you* are out there when a cycle happens, it won’t kill you but it won’t do *nothing* either.

Librarian gearing up, putting bullets into magazines at a table with a knife stuck in it like he is the Punisher only to realise, once in the zone, that he forgot the gun to fire said bullets at the base and having to do a walk of shame back to get it is absolutely hilarious. But the simple fact that you can have that happen to you is in my opinion so awesome. Most games won´t ever give one the possibility in the first place, having the gun all but literally glued to the character. And even with games that have a in base inventory, it won´t have the same feeling of embaressed realization, or absolute panic if it happens in a fight. Because here, as one does the motion of actually putting it down manually, ther mind will flash back to exactly that moment very much like in real life. And that little thing adds so much to the immersion.

Alright, i watched the video and i can already tell i will love this playthrough. If there's one person on youtube that can carry the experience of playing the game to the viewer it's probably you. Thanks for playing this. A few spoiler free technical tips that might help with playing the game and the recording quality: - I see some stuttering in some areas, but maybe it's just the recording? Anyway: To improve the ingame performance using fsr + sharpening and taa + slightly higher resolution scale helps more than using a lower resolution scale + msaa and and you won't lose a of image quality that way. I started using 1.2 resolution scale + msaa and later i used 1.5 resolution scale with taa and the later option definitely performed a lot better. If that's not enough: Dynamic shadows eat a lot of performance, especially when you explore buildings with a flashlight. Disabling shadows completely will still keep the baked scenery shadows active, since they barely affect the performance because they're basically just another layer textures. - If the stutters only happen in the recording and you're using OBS: Try letting the x264 codec do the rendering. Nvenc is imho pretty sh*te at doing that in this game. - There should be a plugin for OBS to record anything openvr/steamvr related. And i think that one should have an option to let you chose the eye you're recording. If you record your domninant eye we will see what you're seeing through the monocular or scopes. - There's somewhere an option to display you body including arms. This doesn't fix the issue of you body + pockets rotating randomly though. Picking stuff from your holster still is a bit tricky sometimes and i hope this will be fixed in the next big update. - A hard save in you base is recommended. It just happened to me once, but i rare occasions it can happen that you lose an important quest item in a place you can't access. It that case it's nice to have a savegame to go back to before you went on that mission. - This one's just an idea that improved the experience for me: If you want to have more time to explore (imho the day/night cycle works a little to fast): There is a mod called Change Time Scale in the Radius on nexusmods to slow down the time progression in the Radius. The /4 (= time runs 4x slower) file worked pretty well for me. There are also files to make time run 2x and 8x slower. But like i said: Just an option if you want more time per ingame day. That's it, can't wait to see more of this! I just finished this game myself about a week ago and i can already tell: Into the Radius VR is going to be an all time classic for me. Didn't enjoy a vr only game this much since Half-Life: Alyx. Into the Radius VR can be a bit janky sometimes, but once you find your ways around those little issues, it's an awesome experience.

Yo it's my favorite VR game! Love to see more people playing ITR, especially spooky VR man. I've played through the game twice already, and have a few (basically spoiler free) bits of info that aren't made very clear in-game. ... ... 1) Fragments and Phantoms (The slow shambling clicky guys that leave cores when killed and the nearly invisible guys.) have their weak point in their midsection. It looks like a little hollow area in their model. I had no idea about this my first playthrough (40 hours), even if I killed a Fragment/Phantom in less shots it wasn't clear to me why (Like at 32:55 ). It looks like you got a feel for the right spot already, just explaining why it seems one shot is enough sometimes. 2) Some of the later top priority missions require 5-6 side missions before they show up, so it might take multiple treks into the radius doing side missions before you get the next main mission. 3) Any item you grab with your hand once becomes permanent and immune to the Tide, even if left on the ground in the zone.

The game does have a linear element, yes, but I'd say it's 50/50. There's a lot you can do non-linearly by just taking side missions for money, which I recommend doing so you can afford good weapons and equipment, save up for big boxes of ammo, etc. As far as organization, I'd highly recommend putting healing syringes in your left pouch on your hip rather than your backpack so you can grab them in a hurry. The left pouch has a freeform organizational storage box like your backpack, just a much smaller one. Don't pack it with other stuff that you might accidentally grab in the heat of the moment - I once stuffed mine with cigarettes and things, and I went to reach for a syringe and kept grabbing lighters and stuff. Bad move! If you find any flashlights that are flat and forward-facing, you can turn them on and then leave them on your chest. You can also just reach to your chest and click the trigger to flick them on and off without grabbing them. There IS a headlamp you can buy later, and yes it's a must-buy IMO. The anomaly finder isn't super thoroughly tutorialized, but basically you have to capture the thing you're tracking in a "snapshot" by aiming at where it is after the beeping has hit the maximum. That typically makes a hidden anomalous artifact appear. Another thing not a lot of people know: from what I've heard, any items YOU place in the radius are permanently there even through wipes. This means you can leave yourself caches of ammo if you really need to. I don't know if I'd recommend this though, IMO just take everything back to your base, keep it safe and organized, and bring what you need on runs. As others are no doubt saying too, it would be VERY wise to keep your knife on either your left or right arm holster (I recommend your right arm, so you can grab the knife with your left, as your right hand should almost always be holding a gun). Typical loadout is shell casing bag on your left arm, knife on your right arm. If you can't see your watch because it's dark, just tap the face of it with your finger to turn on the night light. Finally, you can put that shotgun you got in the side slot of your backpack. Happy shotgunning! Side note: Impressed with how much you've grown, man. I've been here since you were at I think around 20k. Very excited that you're finally playing this. It's definitely top 5 VR games of all time for now for many reasons, as you've noticed chiefly having solid immersive interactions that other VR games often lazily don't support.
