I think a lot of people would have preferred not to, but (1) it's fun to see your name on the big screen, at least the first few times, and (2) it would feel really rude to be the only person leaving early. Everyone is basically politely waiting for their coworkers' names to scroll by.

wrt the creative commons thing, its not for the players sake. The vast majority of game companies won't even consider you unless you have X number of credits on your resume, having credits for stupid things like "bush texture" is a pre requisite to applying to entry level jobs because the market is so over saturated with employees.

I sometimes have to deal with that Creative Commons shit because photographers sometimes takes pictures of me during sports events and release them on a website, and if I like the pictures they take I want to use them for myself. And I'm always thinking, do I really need to care about that licensing shit when I'm the subject in the photo? I think legally, I probably do, but morally, that's me, I should get to use pictures of myself however I want even if I did not take the photograph myself.
