We visited Georgetown about a month ago. My GF is from there and we visit her mom every few years. Guyana have its many charms and we enjoy it every time we visit. It's interesting to see a country that NO one really cared about until the discover of BIG OIL. Now all these "Ambassadors" from other countries mainly the US and major companies want a part of Guyana. We stayed at the Marriot and it was teaming with nothing but people from the oil industry and foreign investors. Although the oil is helping with the building of new infrastructure it will also change the charms that is Guyana into just another clone of any US city. There is already talk about Starbucks entering Georgetown not to mention that multibillion dollar gated resort that will be built for all the RIch Foreign oil C.E.Os and investors... Great Video by the way.

Exactly what I am saying. Since the discovery of oil in 2018, it's Guyana this and Guyana that. The same country so many Americans knew about but dis not want to visit because it was only know for the Jonestown tragedy. Which of course was a Caucasian American that went there and our people allowed him to do nonsense. Funny how things can turn

I understand ...y'all can remain in the shit and misery...without any future. I passed by Guyana in 2016 ...it was like being in a wild land no rules, corruption and workers in construction site wearing flip-flops and shorts... people playing music on the road so loud as if everyone would be deaf...no sidewalks at all....no construction codes.. i can say more...people driving with only one rule in mind: Create your one line. I came back 2020....now construction workers started wearing safety boots, vest, ...looks like all those "Ambassadors" are teaching y'all how to be more civilized.

@@reymillan4452 not their place to tell others how to live, how many times do u need to learn this…this one of the last pristine environments in the world, your “civilizing” will come with pollution and deforestation. Hard hats and boots are hardly a good trade off to build infrastructure for foreign interests that will barely kick back to local economy. So why not keep passing by, take it for what it is and go back home to where u feel everything is done to your standard
@reymillan4452
@reymillan4452 2 жыл бұрын
@@arondon5739 Dont worry. I dont care how they live and obviously I would not stay. thats exactly why i said that if they dont want progress and a better economy for everybody (it comes through foreign investment cause they dont have a penny) its ok. Its their choice. but then, dont complain about no having a proper healthcare system, poor education, terrible infrastructure or a having a life expectancy under the average in the continent etc. Second, wearing Hardhats and boots is about safety and protecting your life so you can keep proving for you family.Its about quality of life, its about progress. Other than that is stupidity

@@reymillan4452 say whatever you feel like but we were never living in any misery. Mind you bloody business and you don't have to go back. No one needs you there nor I'd begging you to come so stay in your lane and mind your business. For you to even day something means you are guilty of something. Did we come and ask you to come and visit our do called grass land! At least we not shooting and killing each other daily. We are happy despite what other so called countries that has it all calls us. As far as construction workers wearing flip flops show us the proof because I have never seen any construction workers in Guyana with flip flops. How easy and tasty it is to pray with someone else's scapular, I wondered if the true Guyanese territory east of the Essequibo River named after Spanish origin is a gray territory with nothing infertile and ugly? who live showing the territory that belongs to Venezuela by history and reason. For Guyanese who pretend they don't know In 1814 Holland ceded to England, for three million pounds sterling, 20 thousand miles of territory to the British, equivalent to 32,187 km2, which represents its territory between the Demerara Berbice and Essequibo rivers , never west of the Essequibo river, every Guyanese must feel ashamed to be part of a robbery and a usurpation that we will soon recover our Venezuelan Essequibo. all those people who intend to comment, I propose that you accept a debate to teach you what they do not tell you in your colleges and universities Esequibo is Venezuela 🇻🇪🇻🇪🇻🇪🇻🇪🇻🇪🇻🇪🇻🇪🇻🇪🇻🇪🇻🇪🇻🇪🇻🇪🇻🇪🇻🇪
