By the way, Assalamu alaikum is not Indonesian language. It's Arabic. We normally use it to say hello because most of us are Muslim. But we also say Om Swasti Astu to say Hi to our Hindu brothers and Sisters, Salam Sejahtera for our Christian friends or family, or simply just say Salam for everyone in general.

Don’t you know that Asian Games 2018 in Jakarta was recognized by the Asian Games Federation as the best Asian Games that ever held? After the event, many of the athlete and their family came back again to Indonesia to enjoy it more. And the colossal performance in the opening is a traditional dance from Aceh in north Sumatra, call Ratoh Jaroe. ( for ladies) & If it is for man they call it Saman Dance. You should check them out, coz this dance brought so many victory in international dance competitions around the world.

The first dance is Ratoh Jaroe, (originally from Aceh region) for this Asian Games tho it involved 5000 students. You should see the more professional dancers of Ratoh Jaroe dance, less people but more complicated movements. The song used is Bungong Jeumpa (which is folk song from Aceh)

Fun fact, this 18th asian games was held the day after our 73rd year of independence from slavery and colonialism from the Dutch and Japanese (17th August 1945) after fighting for our rights and freedom for 350+ years, so, the date for this 18th Asian Games was on 18th of august 2018 (18-08-2018) and a lot of people thought this was an absolutely beautiful and lucky date because of the lucky significance of the number 8 and also coming back to full circle where, in 1962, Jakarta was freshly rebuilt and remodeled for the 4th Asian Games based on our national heroes' dream and future vision of Jakarta being the hub and pride and hope of Indonesia. actually, in 1962 was the 4th Asian Games & yes..Indonesia hosted. Then in 2018 Indonesia became the host again. By the way, one of the theme songs of the 18th Asian Games is of the dangdut genre, The "modern dangdut", i think.
