Hi All! I just received my RCCG Machine and I can tell you the quality is out of this world! Yes the price tag makes your eyes open a bit, but this is no different than when you are shopping for quality tools of any kind. I can tell everyone, in no uncertain terms, that you are getting your money's worth on this purchase. I was simply blown away by the craftsmanship, quality, and care taken with this product when I opened the case for the first time. Even the tools provided in the kit are high quality, definitely not cheap china crap. For those of you who step up and purchase one of these, you will not be disappointed!!!

Hi Jon, I understand comments where some guys sais that is too expensive for a few aluminium pieces to cg a small aircraft but I also understand guys who will invest that price to be sure of the life of a $20.000 aircraft during the first flight. I think it's quite normal that all kind of aircraft has the appropriate stuff to go with... If you buy a Porsche don't expect to buy new tires the same price as your mom's small car tires. Very good video as always Jon 👍👍👍.

Hi Jon, why not make a video about the total cost of a ready to takeoff jet aircraft who is difficult to imagine for a lot of people I think (I'm sure even for thousands of the channel viewers who love that). It's quite easy to find the price of the aircraft kit or the turbine on the web but the total with all the onboard stuff that's not the same... thanks, David.

Hi, do you always only use the landing amount of fuel when measuring out the plane? If the fuel tank is not placed at CG that must affect the CG with full amount of fuel then.
@thelightersideofrc Жыл бұрын
As a general rule, CG is always set up when the plane is in landing condition. Obviously the further away the tank is from the CG point the more affect it has. I will sometimes check the CG range from full to empty and in between, but ultimately if the plane becomes more nose, heavy when full, there’s not much you can do about it
@troyedwards3417 Жыл бұрын
Gosh. That is a useful piece of equipment. I can remember having 2 modellers, one each using their index finger to guesstimate the balance point of each wing tip and lifting the craft to see whether the the nose went up or down. Rocket science at its conception.Lol. Thanks again Jonathan for keeping us all in the now. Cheers mate. T

Great tool and in investement it matches up with the total-price of most scale-jets. Very, very smart design. Noticing there are "alternatives" for the Xicoy-set, it's interesting to know if thes will fit the "pucks". Any idea what the size is of the square pucks in which you place the Xicoy-scale?? If the square size and diameter is clear, I can check if this RCCG-Machine also fits the "alternatives" one. . . . opens the market al little bit more maybe. Thanks
@thelightersideofrc Жыл бұрын
Thanks and Totally Agree. So many have such strong feelings that spending this much on a quality tool is crazy. In Michaels "how to" video on his site he is using wireless pucks. Not sure if they are Xicoy units or another brand but the area where the pucks sit are slightly oversized. So the Xicoy pucks have a bit of wiggle room
@beyondxtream4056 Жыл бұрын
@@thelightersideofrc Would be great if it suits/fits more "Xicoy-variants". Do you maybe have some measurements (square sizes and inner-diameter) so I can check overhere in the Netherlands? Appriciate 🙂

I really, really ike this RCCG-Machine . . . and looking over and over the use of this tool on your Albatros-build . . . then I guess ( 13:18 ) if you have spaced out both main gear wheels on the cross-bars . . . and you measure the diagonal from one main gear wheel -directly- to the nose wheel . . . and if you take this measurement to your RCCG-Machine . . . . then there is no need for "eye-balling" :-) . . . . . and yep I look for the RCCG-Machine in Europe as soon as it is available. This makes sense for someone in your position. For the general hobbyist such as myself. The xicoy is just fine. I may cg a plane on the xicoy once a year or every two years. So it’s just not justifiable for $1200. This is bad ass though. And if it made sense and I had that kind of money, I’d definitely get one. However at the end of the day, $1200 for just a ruler system, imho, regardless of the convenience, is a bit high it seems.

Great to see a new product come to market but I don't understand how this helps regarding precision provided that the user still has to center the wheels on the Xicoy sensors. If the centering of the wheel isn't exact, cg could be of by a few mm which is exactly the same problem as measuring.
@thelightersideofrc Жыл бұрын
Quite simple. It eliminates error in measuring and speeds up the measurement process. Unit levels so you know it’s level. On a garage floor or a bench/table on a garage floor it will typically slope to the door.
@motorcyclenut1 Жыл бұрын
Nice job I like the way it works, but my question is do you always C.G. your jets with the landing amount of fuel in the tanks?
@thelightersideofrc Жыл бұрын
