The problem: Sarah Jessica Parker had to be the alpha, and Kim refused to take second billing. Two strong-willed women. Kim stole the show and was fan favorite. What a blow to SJP's ego. Kim fought for financial parity and was shut down. Now that she's gone, Cynthia and Kristen are getting equal pay and producing credits, how ironic. ..🤔

Sarah Jessica may have been intended to be the star of the show or the voice of "reason" , but isnt the show made for the Audience and it is up to the Audience to react to what is presented to them, instead of forcing an idea or a perspective on them (more than Hollywood normally does). If the audience liked kim better (Samantha , that is) then it would be reasonable for the producers to Listen to the audience and persue a course that would take that into account. It almost looks like Sarah Jessica wanted the show to be her own little playground in which she can be the star and exert herself to the audience without any regard for their affinity for her character.

Bingo. It’s unbelievable that Kim was making only $350k per episode considering SJP was making a whopping literal TEN TIMES that much per episode: $3.3 million. I can’t blame Kim.

Samantha was definitely THE fan favourite! And Carrie and Samantha’s friendship in the show was the most compelling. It’s truly sad that things were bad behind the scenes and that they didn’t have a friendship.

SJP took the bulk and there wasn’t enough to properly compensate the other women who were definitely deserving.

Yes! It would be the most logical extension of the story after the other ones are married with children, while Samantha is still single and she has always been the eldest out of all characters. It is logical that she has had groups of single friends before, why not a new group of single friends after the girls we were following fell off the wagon?

Some of this is rumor that has been refuted by Kim. She has said she didn't demand for more money or stipulate they do other projects of hers. She left because her experience with Sarah was uncomfortable because Sarah had been snobbish to her and the 3 women excluded her.

I am big fan of the show. Kim Catrall's character was my favorite. She was star of the show. When they announce the reboot and the Catrall character is not returning. Shame on them. I believe her there was problems on set. Glad she is not putting up with that mean girls crap or mental issues. Good for you.

The show was Carrie and her friends, Carrie and her new boyfriend etc. I always liked the friendship between Carrie and Sam. I think with this issue is from what the Ex Prooducer said Kim thought she would be top billing not Sarah but back then both had movies under their belt and both were the same in star power. Tbh I think they should have gone the Friends route all the same money. Idk it's a miss understanding and miscommunication from all parties.

Kim Cattrall publicly announces she and SJP were never friends, YEARS before she PUBLICLY puts out an Instagram post about her brother's death, THEN gets pissed at SJP for responding how sorry she is. Interesting.. I don't know why you would be so triggered by somebody you were never even friends with in the first place, and so hurt about the way you were "treated" by her. Probably things we will never know about.

I didn’t miss Samantha in the reboot, loved it and it works without her. Her character would not be the same anyway, she would be in her 60’s, but it would have been interesting to see how they developed it. Her moving to London and bitter at Carrie not using her as her rep anymore seems to fit with real life somewhat. It makes me sad that she seems the antagonist one.

The only mistake that Kim has had committed here was to expose her thoughts. I guess a few things should be kept behind closed doors. However, I understand why she did it: she was villainized. Saying that she was demanding lots of stuff in order to participate in a 3rd movie. It is sad, because women are constantly being put against each other and, once again, the press and negativity won this battle 🤷🏾‍♂️

Funny if Kim was such a money hound like they portrayed her, why wasn’t she chomping at the bit to make North of $1,000,000 per episode, I think SJP was an ahole to Kim the entire series, they scapegoated her, and Kim finally had enough and stood up for herself because I think Kim is actually a nice person, and not fake. Wouldn’t you want more money to be abused, so maybe early on Kim requesting more money might have been true, but at some point no amount of money is worth giving up your self worth. Kim just seems much more genuine and believable than SJP, so either she’s telling the truth or she’s a much much better actress either way she wins lol.

Kim Cattrall is a lying drama queen. There were interviews with her saying she got along great with SJP and she felt the media started that rumor. Suddenly after Kim receives negative press for not signing on to do the 3rd movie, she throws SJP under the bus with a phantom feud. No examples of how she was treated poorly just blank statements to paint herself as the victim. Cattrall’s own cousin said how conniving of a person Kim is.

Sarah Jessica Parker has a stellar reputation in show business. She has continually worked since she was a child. She's married with three kids. Kim Cattrall, on the other hand, really hasn't had much of a career outside of Sex in the City. She's 60+, childless, and has multiple failed marriages. She's never spoken up about any of these problems she had on the set of Sex in the City until NOW?. The show has been off the air for years!. To me she just seems like a bitter old woman.
