Do you think you would enjoy a dinner with all of these rules in place?

Was told by a friend that at a Princess Margret dinner for RAF, Margret ate fast and finished before half the people had been served! No food for that half! She was the most inconsiderate Royal.

Goodness isn't this normal dining table etiquette! That's how my parents brought me up!

Likewise; as Brits we had to use both knife and fork together English style, and not make sandwiches at table. The same was taught at school lunch.

Okay I’m guessing most of you are American. The reason for so many rules is: 1) Deference 2) Efficiency 3) Tradition It’s not the Kardashian’s, it’s a 1000 year old institution that is also carrying out an official constitutional role of 15 nations. It’s going to be stiff and boring. Even the White House has protocols and each First Family have their own.

I see no problem with the Queens rules and rather enjoy learning about her. 70 years ruling(?), correct❓🤗😊

I adore these traditions, etiquettes / practices in which most people no longer practice or follow. These are what you can call civilized gatherings in which you know who was brought up well and who isnt. I love the practicality of food choices, as one wouldnt want a garlic breathy conversation as well as stomach ache or nausea, as some guests cant tolerate spices. One cant afford having bits of dinner stuck in between one’s teeth and smile with it. The foie gras banning is such an excellent move by Prince Charles. I support that ban and it should be banned worldwide. It is barbaric!

I really respect Her Highness, but these rules based upon her preference alone are ludicrous. I'm sad Her Majesty won't allow garlic, one of my favorite tastes, on the menu. Sounds boring.
@robertladue76472 жыл бұрын
Tisn’t. Garlic mixed with one’s digestive juices is not always pleasant as a residual odor. The Queen is the primary meal participant since she is the monarch. All others are her guests. Seems reasonable to me.
@sams30152 жыл бұрын
She hasn’t been Her Royal* Highness in 70 years since she was Princess Elizabeth lol. The His and Her Highness without Royal isn’t used in Britain. You might as well be calling her Mrs Smith. Also the upper classes pride them self in being boring. Only new money is “flashy”. You wouldn’t really catch an aristocrat wearing Gucci sneakers for example

What’s utter nonsense is that they are draped in jewels and pomp when people are starving and homeless. That is unacceptable.

I think the whole concept of a monarchy to be nonsense. That accepting a person who is born into a specific inbred family makes him superior to every other person in the world is ludicrous. Harry is a perfect specimen of a worthless human being. And that bunch has covered for him all of his life. And now people in CA are covering for him in his horrific abuse of horses because they are impressed with this nonsense. William played polo with him and witnessed his abuse of horses. He did nothing to stop him.
