You have organised so beautifully. I have a little less space than you have but thr clear bin idea is great. Also sorting through buttons by colors is a very thoughtful tip. You could do a video about scraps. Thank you. Great job

You’ve hit the nail on the head! Create “a home” for your things … that’s relatable wording! Could you create a video about your big table? I’m seeing one fourth for your sewing machine and then three large cutting mats. Looks like whatever the solid surface is is slightly taller than whatever it is you have below for storage. What is the solid surface made of and what are the dimensions? I like that “floating space” (for lack of better wording) underneath your solid surface … it would be a great place to slide in rulers, smaller cutting mats, etc. And using 3 standard size large mats like you have … vs buying one of those huge cutting mats that costs $250 … seems like the perfect idea. We are currently building our forever home. My home office/sewing studio is in the planning stages but the space is about 13x20. I need help figuring out the best way to configure my new sewing “home.” That’s why I’m asking you these specific questions. 😉 I really enjoy your personality and talents and presentation style. I wish I lived close enough to become friends with you. We’d have so much fun! 😊 (Not to mention you have beautiful hair!)

Thank you so much for this! I worked in the fabric department of Hobby Lobby for over 3 years, so it was VERY easy to buy fabric as soon as it went on clearance or new seasonal prints came out. I initially had 17 totes full of fabric! I started going through all of it, and ended up giving some to a friend that quilts and a few ladies at church. I'm hoping 🤞 to go through it all again so I can fit it all in the cabinet I was just given.

I really enjoyed this video. You gave some very good tips. We moved out of the country over a year ago, I was lucky enough to bring about 80% of my craft items with me. Thankfully because of this I was able to go through everything I had and purged what I didn’t use, decide what I want to bring and what to keep at my son’s house. When I was back in the States in July, I made an inventory of what I left behind. That way I know what I have there. I am currently doing a written inventory what I have here for two reasons, I don’t buy duplicates but also to have proof of what I have for shipping purposes. I use Sterilite clear containers to store almost everything.

Great video. I agree, I do get anxious when I can't find the ruler or notion I need. Gave me great incentive to clean out and better organize my fabric.

This video just came across my feed, I am currently doing my annual clean, purge and organize my craft room. After over 20 yrs of crafting I finally realized I need to see what I have. Not even sure how many times I’ve been to multiple DTs over last couple weeks for clear storage. Even wiped out their shelves. LoL also I’ve gotten canning from my hoards that haven’t been used for canning in a few yrs. Thanx for sharing. 😊❤

I found a way to get rid of fabric I no long want. I’m making scrub caps for nurses . That way I feel I made someone happy.

Thank you for mentioning a "small space". We are house hunting & downsizing. I am going from a Den area to possibly a bedroom. Valid point on the big bins in the cubbies. That's exactly what I do. I guess stacking bins it is.! Honestly the large plastic bins are quite heavy with all that fabric in them. This really helps me out. Sorry for all the blubbering. 😉

I need to purge and organize books from my run of 26 years of Home School - THEN - I can begin to remake my space dedicated to sewing! Whew! It's going to be a big job! (BTW - I want to keep the books!) Fabric is currently carded and ordered by color in see through plastic storage bins - but I need to switch the books to the bins and the fabric to the shelves!😊

Or you add painted pieces of board on both sides of the cubbies and slip a shelf in to create more space.

It would take me about a week to gather all of my fabric. 😉🤦🏻♀️ One reason is that my fabric that I inherited from my mom was put in storage along with my other treasures from my mom. ❤

Great ideas but I weave. Looms are BIG and take up a lot of floor space. How do I store coned yarns? I also worry about fabric/yarn fading. I know I have too much stuff but it’s hard to store large items
@ThelittleGreenBean6 күн бұрын
I have never had anything fade. For large cones I would use a peg board system on the wall with long pegs for each cone. It would also look so pretty!!

More wonderful ideas, Missy! I have a question, please. I clicked on your link for supplies, which took me to your Amazon. What I wasn’t able to find were the clear four drawer stackable units you use. I believe you stacked three or four of those four drawer units. May I ask if you could direct me to those, please? THANK YOU SEW VERY MUCH! You’re amazing🫶

I keep sewing projects in large zip lock bags with the instructions/pictures in the bag and keep them in stackable plastic drawers. I have very minimal storage space.
