Hey D! Totally agree buddy, to grow old is a privilege. I too had a great releationship with my grandparents as a kid and it gave me a deep respect for the elderly right from the outset. I appreciate the emotion and feeling you exude while talking about this topic. The movie sounds great. June Squibb is excellent, I would love to see more of her films so I'll definitely be checking this one out. Great to spend this time listening to you, be well my friend! Catch you on the next one.

Absolutely! It's sad that people don't recognize that in this day and age. I try to conserve my emotions for significant moments, and it was surprising that this ended up being one. June Squibb is so wonderful in this. I hope you enjoy it once you check it out, and thanks so much for the great commentary! 🙏🙏🙏

My condolences 🙏 💚💚💚 my gmother too, this March. I would love to watch this. My mother is my best friend and we would talk about her life stages and how she felt about it. However, lol I'm going to wait a loong while before I watch this. I'm not a crier either but I've been crying randomly out of nowhere for a while now. 😅 This movie, like those ASPCA commercials will get me going for sure!

Condolences to you as well! This was a delightful experience, but the deeper emotions will definitely hit you hard. My mom had a similar experience with a Luther Vandross documentary that we also watched at the festival. I hope you enjoy it once you get a chance to check it out for yourself, unexpected tears notwithstanding. 🙏🙏🙏

Hey D! I watched the live premiere and wow, this sounds like a movie I HAVE to check out. It’s amazing they got someone to act in the movie of the age of 93/94 years old and not put heavy make up or prosthetics use to make the age appear genuine. I hope this gets a U.K. release 🙂

Hey, Mike! Thanks so much, compadre. I think you'll really enjoy this one, and I agree that it's great having someone not only of age, a significantly older age like this as a lead. I hope so as well! I know how dicey the UK release schedule can be. 😩🧐🙃

Well you nearly had me in tears just listening and watching you describe your feelings for your grandfather and elders in general. It actually lifted my spirits to know that there are still people who give value to the elderly. Looking forward to seeing this movie. We need to lighten our lives. Thank you, D.

I appreciate you, Riva! It can be a bittersweet experience sharing these experiences, but I'm also grateful to honor the people who helped shape them. Even beyond my own life, elders hold a significance that doesn't always translate to today's societal values. I really hope you enjoy the film, and thank you for this wonderful comment! 🙏🙏🙏

This is such a cute plot! 😂 I was raised by my grandmother and she taught me so many things. I connect with older people in a way that almost feels like I’ve been here before. I’m with you. Older people are a gift to be cherished and valued! ❤❤ shout out to Ms. Susan B (my boo for LIFE)

YES!!! Elders deserve all the honor and love, and they don't get nearly enough in my opinion. Shout-out to Grandma Susan!!! May she continue to rest on. 🙏🙏🙏

Getting to know my grandparents (my Mom's side) before they passed away in '18 and '21 is a good thing to keep in my heart. I will miss them but I know that their in a better place and I hope that my two nephews will have the same love for their grandparents (my Mom and Dad) as much as I did.

D!!!!! This was such a touching video, I loved seeing pictures of your grandparents and seeing how much this film affected you ❤ I was already looking forward to Thelma, but now Im even more excited! Also, I have no time for ageists either... im so tired of hearing our generation have no respect for our elders. So exciting to see June Squibb get her first starring role in her nineties! How amazing!

Hey, Shawn! Thank you so much for the support. It can be a bittersweet experience sharing and touching on some of these memories, but it's so cathartic at the same time. Yes! It's beyond nonsensical to me. Those same people will be in for a rude awakening as the years go on. So happy for June! It's wild to think of what an impact she's making by starring in this. 👏👏👏

Loved this. The personal mixed with a review will always win out. I’m all about respecting older people. They’ll always know more than us and be able to teach us about life. This sounds like a great watch. I’ll check it out. Thanks D!

Thank you, Lisa! I try to balance how often I do that, but it's really something how these stories hit you in some surprising places emotionally. Yes! Nothing but love and respect to my elders. 🙏🙏🙏

It’ll be interesting to see how this is perceived. It’s under a small studio so will see how far it goes.
