Very nice old plant Lyn!!! I had to look this up because of the name " rinconensis" this cactus isn't from Arizona, but when I lived in Tucson the Rincon mountains bordered us on the east side where " saugaro National Park is located , the eastern part of the park anyway. But this plant is from Nuevo Leon Mexico. Thought I had never seen it there in the wild. Hope you are having a great day!! From Morris park in the Ozarks to across the Emerald Isle , enjoy the sunshine guys!!!! Peace Love Plants!!!✌💖🌵🌺🌴🌸🌿🌻

Love Thelocacti. This is a rather nice example too of a nice plump and spherical specimen. I'd very much like to get my hands on more of these but they seldom come up in nurseries or garden centres at this size, so I'm turning my attention to eBay and am waiting to see if there is a private seller with a sale. The buds also reminded me of a gymno cactus. Looks very healthy with descent strong spination. How much water will you give it when in when flower Lyn.? Thanks..., J from Somerset.
@Cactimania4 жыл бұрын
demonhalo67, The Cactus Shed has a few for sale and the Cactus Land website have many Thelocactus listed, it’s where I got most of mine from, great prices as well 👍🏻🌵☀️🏜

So happy you love Thelocacti too James, and Daz at @Cactimania is perfect at mentioning the cactus shed cactusshed.co.uk and The Cactus Land websites for purchasing these wonderful Thelos, they have a wonderful selection on there for sale, I give my thelocacti all a good water every time the soil dries out in the pot when in bud and bloom but wait a bit longer in between when out of flower, and keep them all dry during Winter, thanks so much James for your wonderful support and amazing comments and for watching, and sending you lots of love and happiness and PLANT POWER to Somerset for a terrific Tuesday XXXX

Did u polinate the flowers? I have a Collection of theleocacti and i have some questions about them. Can u help me? First one is How to take the seeds of ? After bloom ? Where Van i find Information ? Theleocacti are so wonderfull i love them. Thank u so much for all the great Videos u and hansi are doing.
@desertplantsofavalon4 жыл бұрын
Hi Jules :-D So happy you love Thelocacti and have a collection of them too, I was going to pollinate the blooms myself but we have had lots of cute Bees in the polytunnel landing on them and I think they will do a better job of it than me this time haha :-D the seed pods usually form after about a week of pollination and can take a good few weeks until the fruit is ready to harvest, the seed pod turns bright pink and it goes very soft and easy to squeeze like a berry when ready to harvest the seeds, if this produces fruits I will make a video on harvesting the seeds :-D thanks so much for your wonderful comment and for watching and sending you lots of love and happiness and PLANT POWER for a fantastic Thursday XXXX

@desertplantsofavalon4 жыл бұрын
@@JulesKaestner Thats fantastic Jules :-D if they are brown and crispy they may be ready to harvest, if the brown fruit pods are dry and crispy and pull off easy without any pressure they will be ready to remove and harvest :-D XXXX

Hi😄 I just have a question can a corked golden barrel would have pups? because my cactus is corked i'm just wondering if it would be okay if I will core it?🤔😄
@desertplantsofavalon4 жыл бұрын
Hi Gracian, yes the good news is that Golden barrels are very often corked especially at the base and often on the cactus body, they will still send out pups over time from the base, as the areoles where the new pups form, you can definitely core it yourself too from the top of the cactus to produce pups from the top, this works very well although I have not done it myself, but many other growers do this and it works well for golden barrels, thanks so much for your wonderful comment and for watching and sending you lots of love and happiness and PLANT POWER for a terrific Tuesday XXXX

Does this cactus make seeds? If so how are they harvested?
@desertplantsofavalon2 жыл бұрын
Hi Connor :-D yes this cactus produces dry seed pods if the flowers get pollinated, the seed pods can take a few weeks to 3 months to form seeds, the dry crispy pods usually split open from where the old flower was and the seeds fall out easily, I usually pick off the dry seed pods with tweezers and pull open the pod onto a tray to collect the tiny seeds, thanks so much for your wonderful comment and support and for watching, and sending you lots of love and happiness and PLANT POWER for a super Sunday XXXX
