The Lodge Card Club is a members-only social club in Round Rock, Texas (just north of Austin). With 24/7 cash games and 2+ tournaments per day, The Lodge is THE place to play poker in central Texas. The Lodge Live is streamed every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday at 3PM CT.
You never know what you might see on The Lodge Live stream. You might see Pocket Aces vs Pocket Kings. You may see the nut straight lose to a full house after the board pairs on the river. There's a good chance you will see loads of straddles (and double straddles, and triple straddles). Players go all-in blind or play poker hands after looking at just one card. That's just what poker is like in Texas!
The stream regularly features Lodge owners Brad Owen, Andrew Neeme, and Doug Polk. Players like Rampage, Mariano, and Igor Kurganov has also graced The Lodge Live felt. And who knows? One day The Lodge may even host players like Daniel Negreanu, Phil Hellmuth, Phil Ivey, or similarly huge poker names.

Well, I would say a lot of these plays are unconventional, but he rarely got his money in poorly. He also was able to fold out a lot of better hands when he did make moves, people just want to gamble and he ran poorly. 9s10s is never a call there let alone there is still action behind. Not to mention he flops him near dead on both boards. Yes, he could’ve avoided those situations. No, he was not just punting his whole stack. guarantee you have seen similar plays from pros but you don’t question it bc they’re “pros”.

Does anyone remember an episode of poker after dark (cash game) where JRB loses his 200k and then when they ask if he’s done he says that’s it… and they are like oh no more for today.. and he says no like that’s it that’s all the money I had that puts me on empty. I can’t find a clip of it anywhere but I’m sure I remember it.. you could see on his face he wasn’t lying. Can someone please explain to me the rules of the 'nit game'. For instance, why does a player have to pay a 'nit tax' after losing a particular hand?
@chakong
@chakong 10 ай бұрын
The nit game is an agreed upon side game. After the side game begins, each player is given a marker token (nit button). The only way to get rid of your nit button is to win a hand and show your hand. The last person with a token has to pay the nit tax. The nit tax is an agreed upon amount which is determined before the nit game starts (e.g. $300 paid to each player). On a hand with multiple board run outs, only the first runout is counted towards the nit game. If you go bankrupt and lose the nit game, you are still required to pay the nit tax out of pocket.

Well yeah bc unless you’re Phil Ivey , nobody wants to watch good poker being played. People want car crashes. Blood. Huge pots. Awful beats. And drama. Unless you’re already famous, you are being selected to fight to the death for the audience’s entertainment, AND NOT TO WIN AT POKER. Being able to navigate between consistently beating live streams without being kicked off the show is extremely difficult. Therefore, rarely will you last on the livestream poker scene.

@@MINNESOTA_PTSD the thing is..this is the first time I seen Patches play. And watching players play horrendous is not as entertaining as you are making it be. So, I will probably never watch Patches play again, because it was so boring. People always make these comments like they are some genius. Believe it or not, people still want to watch players make good decisions. Sure you can call a 3bet with 57 suited..but once you get to the flop, we want to see you strategically win the hand. Now if you're just shoving those kinds of hands preflop, that is actually quite boring and you will lose viewership if that's what they are all doing. 🤣

You learned nothing about dudes poker game. He was not there to show off his poker skills. He was there to induce action. Which he did. And unfortunately lost big because of it. I mean you can have whatever opinion you want….but this isn’t a legit setup. This is a pre Determined , “okay let’s gets crazy” Poker stream. You can’t judge anyone’s poker ability based on a live stream. People’s lives can change from these. Look at Robbie. All it takes is for some random person to do something crazy, and next thing you know Social Media is going crazy about them, and they are in high demand. I couldn’t think of a worse place to try to watch high level or even sound fundamental poker….than a Lodge Live Stream Cash Game.
