Did you watch both matches? Scott cannot hold his own with cash games. He played fit or fold poker. Doug won so many small pots because Scott would literally check fold in spots where cbetting and check raising could be profitable. Grandma poker at its finest. I honestly don’t know how Scott managed to win those two mtt events… the key hand I remember was Scott had top pair on a rivered flush board and decided to “value bet” when you will only get called by better hands. Doug had a flush there. I hope his TV time was worth it. Literally an absolute 🚮

@@vincepro_tv I do agree with most of what you're saying. Especially one hand where he had the Ace of clubs nut flush blocker and folded to a delayed C-bet. Also the AJ top pair laydown with his hand so under repped was uh...interesting. Without a doubt he has some exploitable spots but it was pretty clear his HU game is unpolished and he's voluntarily taking action against one of the strongest. He went in completely unprepared, was likely aware of that, and tried to look Doug up in several big spots he has probably never been in before; and for that I commend him. Not sure how you can use this match as an indication of his MTT play. The formats are like comparing apples and oranges IMO.

Dwan came to MACAO in 2012 he was specialist in holdem, he accepted to play in spots that were not highest EV like short deck and that is why he got insane action. You can not only demand play me HU nl holdem for this amount, etc , this many hours. To truly truly win big and get good games you need to offer action also. And than believe in your mind and yourself that you will learn faster new format to be competent enough that your EV in your game makes it worth.

The final hand is super funny too! How Doug picks up a garbage queen high hand that wiffs the flop! Bluffing with queen high gets called turns into a bluff catcher with top pair and then rivers a premium hand since two pair on this dry board especially when the board isn’t pair can be strong and then Doug of course goes for the check raise!!!

Actually think that qq was a really bad play. Just luckily worked well in that hand. It doesn’t make any sense for qq to barrel turn 2 x pot, u have tons of show down value on the turn against any 7 and 8 and any 99-jj and u already have lots of bluffs, why triple qq as bluff lol. It’s just spewy

@@steveblock3882 u can think of it in this way, if he even 2x turn when he has qq, then what about hands like jj tt? Does he also bluff that? And what about 7x 8x. If he bluff all those hands it will be just the way overbluffing. From what I see Scott is being too aggressive in some spots and kind of station while Doug is playing very theoretical good balanced poker. So I’d say Doug has huge edge over him because a the more hands played, Doug will start find a way to exploit him by calling too much/ make less bluffs. And I’m just trying to discuss here, no offense hahaha
