So so pragmatic, simple and brilliant. As a lambda people, a poor one, but as a person like anyone else, I feel so proud to see that she put my soul, experiences, thoughts and feelings in Literature. My "nobody" life gains some respect thanks to Annie Ernaux. Merci Madame. Merci.

What is meant by “iambda people”?

That's what has stopped me writing my book for years, because I wanted to make it right, not beautiful. And I am sure many readers would have and will reject it. This interview has appeared to my aid, especially resonating in the language of my spiritual home. Here I go. Thank you!

I love her build-up/rationalisation of writing as a political act; _The Years_ really encapsulates that seamlessness of the personal and political. Adore her writing, so thrilled that her books are reaching more people :)

Lol nope a French pig’s books will NEVER reach people outside of France substantially since most people have basic dignity and decency

She is more interesting than Houellebecq, by far. She is courageous, humble. She stayed true to herself. She writes very well. She speaks very well about her writing process. And she stays away from the spotlight.

Not sure why the need to compare. They are both writers in their own way. I prefer a world where a Houellebecq exists alongside an Ernoux.
@tinustinus571 Жыл бұрын
@@losdoslos well said! It was a bit provocative. Why? Because lot of French intellectuals mocked Annie Ernaux and depreciated her work. The other reason is because of the marketing power behind Houellebecq. Plus, I tend to prefer the human qualities of Annie Ernaux and her sensibility. Annie Ernaux is a writer. Houellebecq is a writer supported by a system. Of course, there is no need to compare 2 artists. Consider it as my personal preference.

Great interview, thank you very much. Just a suggestion: if you upload the subtitles in KZbin (instead of rendering it on the video itself), one can disable it or select other languages (KZbin automatically translates it).
