Love this cake. I'm going to attempt it this weekend. Question, never worked with fondant before. Can I make this a day before and the fondant won't harden up? Or do I need to store it a certain way? Also, can I use a fruit preserve in between the layers verses buttercream?

You could for sure make this a day ahead! I've never personally just used a fruit filling without any buttercream or ganache so unfortunately I can't advise on that one. If it was a thin layer I imagine it would be alright but I'm not 100%

It's a 4 inch top and 6 inch bottom. You can buy sets of those cutters online, and they come in various sizes. I believe that's what she used.

How did you achieve both red colors ?

I used a store bought brand for the red since its tricky to achieve yourself (Satin ice brand) and then added a tiny bit of black food coloring to get the darker color😊

I use homemade marshmallow fondant but it comes down to personal preference. Some store bought fondants are alright, but fondant can also be easily peeled away from the buttercream and then you just have a normal piece of cake😊
