Ight, LoW, as a non Celtics fan, this was a little bit of hate. Like if you watch back, a lot of the shots JT took were good looks, the shots just weren’t falling. And yes, while that does need to be accounted for, and he needs to be held accountable for that, I don’t think it’s remotely fair to use that as proof that he’s not at the level that we think he’s at. But I will say that outside of that, pretty much everything else you said was truth. Even tho the shots just weren’t falling, shit, they still weren’t falling, so I agree that he shouldn’t be spoon fed minutes for the sake of “he’s the defending nba champion.” But I don’t think this run is enough to justify downgrading him in our minds. You're not putting a foot process into actual context. There is no actual world where he plays over LeBron or KD there just isn't. Which means he has to look for a minute somewhere else. He's not a sinner so he's not getting any minutes over bam ad or embiid He's not that good of a playmaker so he's not getting any point guard minutes And if you've watched the Olympics, the only thing we've needed are shooting guards to do was play defense and shoot. That's why ant got a lot of minutes. That's why book got a lot of minutes.... As this video points out, he's been on a 3-month shooting slump. There's no world where he takes minutes from them either. And even if you want to play it from the perspective of he should have at least got some minutes. There's 12 players on the team. There's pretty much no team in the world where you play 12 players in one game even in the NBA. When you have 15 to 18 players on your team, the mass majority of time only 11 players play and in the playoffs that number shrinks down to like 8 most of the times if people can put their funeral to the side they would realize this just makes the most sense. It had to be somebody and unfortunately he didn't play well enough for it not to be him

Tatum played 50+ more minutes in the 2020 Olympics. The problem was Steve Kerr, the coach that took Team USA all the way to a 4th place finish last year in the FIBA World Cup. Tatum is the leagues first ever role player superstar. He’s a great player, he’s above average for sure, but that doesn’t make you a superstar. But being gifted doesn’t mean you’re on the level as your peers..

It’s a larger issue for JT on why he didn’t play much. Both JT and Imbiid caused similar problems for the offence but they stem from different things. With imbiid he disrupted the offence a lot because he’s used to being an iso scorer who the offence revolves around. So for imbiid he got better as the tournament went on because it was a maturity thing where he could grow into learning that. JT’s problem if you actually watch ANY of the footage from him playing on USA. JT’s flaws aren’t really things you can teach but terrible habits that will take years to overcome. Poor decision making, constantly over dribbles which messes up the offensive flow to the game, clunky driving habits with his court vision. He would drive into help constantly where he made bad passes or took hero shots that disrupted the potential for runs. JT is a great player and his Boston team compliments him very well but JT in the grand scheme of things when it comes to playing with or against the greatest of talents he just doesn’t have the same ceiling.

JT played 4/6 games which is >50% of the games. I still wish he should have played in the first of the 6 games a few minutes at-least.

If I was JT I would just be chilling, man’s just came from a championship run and players do so much conditioning off the court not to mention he’s still participating in team USA practices so the rest time on the bench must be a nice break.

I literally said to people, “Tatum hasn’t made a three since the NBA playoffs” they’d respond it’s because he isn’t playing. NO, the mf just forgot how to shoot idk what happened 😂😂

I agree with u. Sometimes i feel like the only boston fan who thinks realistically about JT However, despite his adam22 levels of no jumper recently, he definitely should have won finals MVP over jaylen

I mean Kerr tried to play him and he looked lost every single time idk what to say. He was benched for good reason and people take it the wrong way. Like yeah dude is an amazing player but he needs to mature a bit. He's gotta learn more about how Fiba ball plays and flows. He's gotta work on his Fiba shot and how to be more efficient then he is in the NBA and most of all he's gotta gain enough confidence to lose that deer in the headlights look he gets. He can get there but now wasn't the time to figure it out best to let the vets carry and they did.

The brother deadass hit the side of the backboard on a corner 3, but because it was Tatum, “ThE oNlY 1st TeAm aLl nBa PlaYeR” it’s still why isn’t he playing 😂😂

Embiid has played with a lot of talent. He played with prime Simmons, Jimmy Butler, Harden and Maxey. Butler and Harden are HOFers and Maxey is that trajectory. Ben was on a HOFer trajectory, even with no jump shot, pre-Atlanta series meltdown.

Tatum needs to learn from Lebron and put his body to work. His shot to inconsistent to be so dependent on it. He just needs to take Lebron whole game and he will be just fine

I didn’t see much of the olympics, but i’ll admit. It was fuckin hilarious that Jrue Holiday (Tatum’s teammate) had more playtime than Tatum himself
