Hell I remember everyone at the start saying this till the Nuggets started winning and everyone went silent till last week. Lets just see how the season plays out. They'll make moves when they are able to anyways. Not being a starter also says little about skill. Horford or Pritchard arent starters. Wiggins of the Thunder isnt, Marshall of the Mavs isnt and multiple others who could easily start on other teams, but dont for other reasons than skill. They mostly miss another shot creator off the bench that could play with the starting lineup and a forward that can play center at times comparable to Gordon.

The problem is the playmaking & shot creation outside of Jokic. Christian Braun & end of career Westbrook are their best bets to create Offense with Jokic off the court & that's bad. Murray is supposed to be Jokic's Kyrie & MPJ is just not going to develop into a well rounded offensive player, he is going to just be a shooter. I love Christian Braun & I think he is a top candidate for most improved player this year, but asking a guy in hos 1st year as a starter to be the 2nd best player on a Championship contending team is an awfully big ask. Now you have Murray & MPJ taking up a giant percentage of the salary & their contracts are almost untradeable. Their best bet is to find some hidden gems before the deadline & beefing up that bench. Call every GM & see who might be available at a discount. Pick up the phone & see if Gordon Hayward is interested in playing 1 more year. Do anything to get some talent & experience on that bench.

48 year Nuggets fan here since 1976. Jamal Murray is 70-80% of the reason the Nuggets are mediocre. Murray is at best a Cminus defensive player before his season. Now, he is a F defensive player in 2024-25 season and I think is passive and more passing that shooting & threes. 31% this season on threes. I think he is hurt and his defense is as bad as Will Barton on 2021. Christian Braun is as good or better in '24 than KCP'23 and Westbrook is 2-3 times better than Reggie Jackson in '23 and he could help move Murray to a catch and shoot Gunner . Malone and Booth are not on the same page as Zeke, Jordan and especially Saric are $15 million of wasted salary . I hope Murray soak his head and gets healthy and they will be fine to the top 4 in the West.

I understand winning a championships as the best or even 2nd best player in a team means something, you have to he a certain level of great to do that and to do it multiple times is on another level.. I also understand the problem with just handing players hypothetical championships because there team isn’t playing great because then you have to speculate all players hypothetical titles.. but let’s just be real 2021 you could argue Giannis was best player in the world over mvp Jokic (even if KDs foot was 1 inch back he’d have been eliminated and have zero rings) but 2022, 2023, 2024, and now 2025 Jokic is the best player in the world he doesn’t need to have won the chip each year to validate that for me because whoever you pick as second place the last 4 years hasn’t been greater than him . The only difference between Shaq, Kareem, Lebron , Magic , Curry , Jordan , Kobe , etc had more rings is if you took them off their teams their roster would still be a competitive 1st to 2nd round playoff team, and if you took the best player off of every team in the league the years they won championships their team would be just about as good as any roster. You take Jokic off Denver this an awful team and you can’t tell me if you put Jordan , Lebron , Shaq or any other player in history at their peak in place of Jokic on the Denver squad that’d they’d have more than 1 ring in a 10 season span either.
