This was and still is the best part of the brony community. The enormous variety of what MLP can be. From heart-wrenching tragedies, the fantastic epics, to cute slice-of-life, to shameless clop and so forth. It's why even though other shows/games have come and gone with me MLP is the one thing I haven't been able to get away from for the full 7 years.

Last year, for a school project, I was required to choose any album that I like to present to people and say why everybody needs to listen to it. I chose Moonrise over every other album I've ever heard. I got 100% on it and hooked half the class on your music (even people that hate MLP) and symphonic metal. Don't stop what you're doing.
@darkdistroi8 жыл бұрын
+RattPitt I don't care for MLP at all, but this is absolutely beautifully done. I love the symphonic metal scene, and go out of my way to find any and all good bands/artists in the genre when I can. I can honestly say that this is significantly more well done than a large majority of the random stuff out there, and on par with some of my favorite bands in the genre. Even the lyrics, which I find silly at times, are particularly well written. I don't care a huge amount for the story, but I can certainly appreciate someone that knows how to write.

In my opinion, this story could not have been told any better. It really explains the feelings of Luna leading up to her banishment, the feelings of Celestia having to banish her, and also (even though it was mentioned very little) the feelings of those who had to fight their war. All in all, the greatest piece of brony music I've heard so far. It deserves way more recognition. Keep on rockin

True. The more I listen to it, the more I'm amazed by the lyrics. The other day I even teared up a bit at the "If I could have saved you, if I could have known - though much time will pass, I'll love you evermore". The whole conflict between the two sisters, with Luna frustrated and depressed (and maybe a tiny bit paranoid?) at her hard work being ignored, and Celestia feeling sad and even guilty that her sister did such a thing while at the same time never softening her resolve to do what must be done for the good of the kingdom... it just hits all the right strings.

This is a masterpiece. The effort, investment, and soul that all of you have put into this work is exceedingly evident. This piece blurs the line between amateur and professional. The only real thing that Moonrise suffers from is that it is admittedly short for a full-fledged symphonic metal opera. One could only have hoped to have born further witness to the glorious and then tragic relationship between the "beloved alicorns, the angels whom we adorn with majesty". Even so, I cannot imagine how much time has already been spent to weave this masterful retelling of a story which itself has only ever been told to us in brevity. Whatever rough edges are left begin to dwindle away with each passing scene. Musicians, writers, vocalists, artists all: as a lover of tales, as a lover of music, I offer my praise and my sincerest gratitude.

The L-Train I listen to this genre of music all the time and I would like to say I think this song is well made but I still agree with AMrTheAn somewhat. There is something about it that doesn't give it the 'epic' feel of what I normally listen to in comparison to, for example, Sacred Worlds by Blind Guardian. What I think it is is that it does not go to the extremes of loud and soft enough, but that is just my opinion. Also note sorry if I come off a little rude but I just wanted to supply some constructive criticism.

Matt Smith Well, when it comes down to it, after you've listened to a genre of music for a really long time, it's difficult not to find similarities among a larger percentage of the songs. It's kind of what defines a genre of music... similarities in musical composition and lyrical thematic.

My whole family's musical. My parents owned (and we have the old synth in our house) a recording studio. I was born with perfect pitch, a great ear for music, some great taste (if I do say so myself), and I have listened to a LOT of metal. I can safely say that, for all the music I've heard, this stands among masterpieces. The riffwork is fantastic and the instrumentation is gloriously incredible, truly fitting for the story it tells. I love the lyrical inflections and accents, and all subtleties to this piece. It's truly a job well done, and all those involved should feel extremely proud of themselves. And, it makes ponies sound badass. What's not to like? Haha. My only very very insignificant note is a case of personal preference, and I feel some of the singing could have been a little... what's the word...? More weighted. Same tone, same inflections, just with a little more weight. And, I found myself thinking that some of the sound mixing could have been a little better here or there so the lyrics are just a little more audible over the instruments. However, both of those are extremely minor, and I don't think this needs to be changed at all. It's brilliant, plain and simple. Thank you.

So, i showed my mother this today and i felt it neccessary to share her expression, this is litterally what she said: "This is the best music i've heard since queens!"

That is some high praise.

I loved the orchestration of the instruments from the Intro. But once I heard the variety of excellent guitar solos, the beautiful female vocal and strong melodic male vocal-- I was blown away by the new awesome!

Man. This got me through so many classes in high school back then. Hope to never see it fade. And may others stumble upon it, in future.

Congratulations. you have managed to make a metal song with lyrics that impressed even a guy who strongly dislikes both metal and lyrics. You win music.

I have never been so happy that I got into the mlp fandom. If I hadn't I never would have found this. This is some of the greatest symphonic metal I have heard. Lunar March is my favorite and Daybreak is breath-taking. Thank you for such amazing music.

The first song/album I listened to in the fandom. This is one of the best things I've ever heard I wish the metal guys in the community like you and PrinceWhateverer are given more credit.

This is by far one of the best collaborations I've ever listened to. It deserves a lot more views than it currently has, I do hope you continue to make songs like this.

This is epic on so many levels. I swear, if this doesn't get its own page on EQD, I will send Sethisto to the moon. On another note, congratulations to everyone who worked on this project and made it into the awesomefest that it is. :)

-clears throat- this, was probably the most beautiful thing I've ever heard come from this fandom, or it would be in the top 3 anyway, this was so perfectly done, the singing, perfection, the guitars, beast, everything, was fantastic, you should be proud for creating something so elegant, something so beautiful, a true master piece.

TheFGF913 But this is a pony related piece of music... I mean, even you can't deny how beautifully this was composed. From the use of Latin to the way the story is told, this is without a doubt a masterpiece.

I love it when a lot of people collaborate to make something as awesome sounding as this. I'm totally going to do the making a physical CD thing when I buy this. Just gotta get a new printer first, haha. I think if you told me a few years ago that I'd find so much joy in a show about whimsical technicolor ponies, I most likely wouldn't believe you. Lo and behold, here I am. All in all, keep up the good work, and don't let the music end. You folks rock. Thanks for your time, and have a fantastic day. \m/
