I've seen a lot of Beatles tribute bands and none of them are ever able to mimic Paul other than his movements or looks, never his vocals. John's voice is much easier to imitate, but Paul's is such a task.

I can hear why I Want to Hold Your Hand became the "hit single". The song's whole arrangement is more anthemic, an example of that "Beatles pop formula" in which artists still try to emulate today. That said, Hold Me Tight is more the "straight up rocker", driven by George's lead, which I tend to play more often as a result.

One of my favorite Beatle songs! And John and Paul never liked it! Recorded in the key of "E", then pushed up on tape to "F" by George Martin, I presume. I'd never play it in 'F". Too hard! I've played this song since early 1964 in many bands. (I'm on a lot of records as a studio musician at Columbia Records, Hollywood, around 1966-1971). And no one I know remembers this song, but me! My daughter posted a video of me playing this song on Facebook about 2016, and I have no clue how to find it. Sadly, she only got the guitar part, failed to get the vocal. (Probably better that way!). I would have loved to have been there, back in the Cavern in 2015 when you guys did this and probably many more good old Beatles songs!

Really? I've been playing for 40 years and I think it's very simple. What's difficult is singing along while playing it because it's in F#, not your typical guitar key to play in.

The Cavern is so tiny, or so it looks. Very intimate. Must have been noisy as hell in there when they played. Great job by these guys. Vocals just slightly off, but HMT is a tough song to play.

Original BEATLES vocals were "off" as well, listen again. The 'rawness' is what makes this bit so good, and powerful--(IMHO).

Wasn’t the original Cavern Club demolished, and a facsimile built nearby with the same name? If so, we have a Beatles tribute band playing in a Cavern Club tribute venue! Speaking as a fellow musician, what I think this song’s original arrangement needs-even now-is clearer and more sustained representation of the harmony. The Lead part, which is great, almost drowns out the Rhythm Guitar, which can’t be turned up too far or it will drown out the Lead. A sustaining instrument like Organ, perhaps playing in the next higher octave from the Guitars to stay out of their way acoustically, might be just the right extra touch. Of course, The Beatles were a quartet and there wasn’t an extra pair of hands available to add Organ to two Guitars, at least during live performance.

Wouldn't it be a "Hoot" if after all these years of STRUGGLING with this tune, we found out that the tape was sped up just a 1/2 step??? Sounds like something G.M. would do to "Quirk" the sound a bit. I never bothered with the 'F' Thingy, I've always just done it in 'E'!!! WOW! Mates. Guess what I just found? Taken from "The Beatles Bible"---"That was unfortunate, because the recording - which was varispeeded to raise the key from E to F, adding drive and energy - is generally held to be a solid example of an early '60s Beatles rocker, with some clever songwriting features thrown in". This reminds me of another great "Faux-Pas"-- After all his would be imitators wearing their Banjo straps over their right shoulder only, hiking said shoulder up to near dislocation in order to emulate their idol, as well as to not drop their almost 12lb Gibson Mastertone Banjos, Earl Scruggs was asked in an interview, just why he wore his strap in this fashion, his reply? "Well ya see, we wear those big hats"!! Figure it out. Har! Y'all enjoy that "F", I'll stick with what the "Boys" really did. Oh, and, from years of playing Rock, one thing is pretty well sure, if it seems too difficult, it's probably WRONG, ie: Honky Tonk Woman in A-440, that always works out well!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't think Paul takes a breath in his hard driving original. Here and in some other covers I hear the "Paul" lead sometimes sing just a little haltingly, which to me almost ruins it. This is a Little Richard/Buddy Holly mashup by the Beatles and the original takes no prisoners!

Good version but the Paul character sings so bad. He does parts on vocals that sings on the end of the song and this song he always sing out of the tune. Everything else, do very well.
