When Knee went to Pakistan in 2019, he beat Dawood 5-0. Clearly, Dawood has spent time in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber sparring with Arslan and all them other Pakistani beasts. These Grand Finals came down to the wire. Knee played well, but I think his performance at Evo was a bit better (more use of Kenpo step, fewer dropped combos, better punishment). On this day, Dawood was the better player. Well done to him, doing Arslan and Pakistan proud!

@All Digital At Evo, Knee was able to use Kenpo to bait whiffs and punishment them pretty consistently. But yes, Alisa has long reach on many moves, and Dawood played quite aggressively, so maybe Kenpo wouldn't have helped too much here. But it did help Knee win some crucial rounds at Evo, which is why I mentioned it.

@Baby gimme Feet Id say there is a fine difference between "aggressive" and "being a masher". The first knows what hes doing, knows when hes at a disadvantage and when he needs to stop his aggression. He knows when his opponent is a counter-hit/suppression character where he needs to slow down etc. The second is just an idiot. Also, mashing doesnt really work in Tekken. Tekken has a clear flow and who's turn it is after every attack. If you attack out of turn, you will get destroyed. Sure, if you lack the knowledge, you wont be able to see your opportunity. Its not easy knowing so many matchups and moves. But just because aggression can look like mashing, doesnt mean it is. Maybe youre on the wrong character? Try a character with good evasion or counterhit or good block-punishment. especially the last one sounds like it would fit you.

Dawood on another hand relentlessly poking down Knee with exceptional timing. It also doesn't matter if Feng is the stronger character, when in this matchup Feng is obviously at disadvantage. Knee is forced to play reactively in this matchup and can hardly poke back, Alisa can poke with minimal minus frame or push back attack and evasively backdash whiff punish all Knee's turns (look at all those whiffed d2), Dawood did really well playing outside Feng's effective range, completely counter Knee's defensive Feng. Forcing Knee to uncomfortably take risk near the end of each round, and just keep holding back forcing obvious low or just RA counter, really well played.

I would say though, that it seems to me that the match up was only bad because dawood brought out the best in alisa. Remember knee, who is far more knowledgable then both of us picked feng after having a crack at dawood with Steve and getting an idea for his play style. So he clearly didnt think it was a bad match up. If knee mopped the floor with this dawood guy I don't people would complain about a poor match up. They would come across as salty. I appreciate the fact you are giving dawood credit though which was the whole point. I get where you were coming from though mate.
