As I have consulted many home theater experts, they prefer to use brands like Maranz, Onkyo, Pioneer, Yamaha etc for a dedicated home theater setup. When comparing with yamaha, HT IV 300 has got many features like bluetooth, NFC etc. But YHT 1840 delivers a bit more quality and crisp sound than Sony. You may please have a demo of both from a store. 😊

If going for professional setup I recommend Yamaha. But need to have a bluray player also for Wifi and other connectivity. Else sony HT IV300 can be a good choice

But since I have experinced sound quality with my receiver I feel that Sony is average when compared to professional home theaters. If you are ready to spend that much, better to walk into a home theater store and experience brands like Yamaha, Denon, Onkyo, Pioneer etc. The music quality will amaze you for sure even from the budget range of receivers. If you are a music lover I recommend to go with any of these brands rather than Sony.

Sir, I am planning to buy YHT 1840 for my Sony TV 55X9500g model. Here in Coimbatore, Tamilnadu I have received offer from a dealer for Rs.28,000/-. But they are charging for speaker wires (0.75mm2) Rs.70/- per metre (Rs.2800/- for 40metres) & for 1 HDMI cable Rs.1200/- both Bandridge brand & Installation Charges Rs.1000/- extra. I have also enquired at Reliance Digital (Rs.27,000/- only), but no Stock there. So please advise on this whether they are charging the right amount & it's worth for the money they are charging?

Hi Prasanna, I think they are charging slightly high for the wires and HDMI cable. Also if you can do the installation yourself, it would be better. Refer to Dolby Digital speaker layouts and positions from the official website and calculate the distance according to your room. Also this model comes with speaker wires already which I think would be sufficient for normal rooms. You can check with croma store also.

Madhugandh Pawar Based on ur budget, I would suggest to go with Sony as Yamaha is costing more and offers less connevtivity. Also your usage is not in a dedicated home theater room I guess. In that case you can go for Sony. If you were to setup your sound system in a HT room, I would suggest to go with Yamaha.

This is not under 20 k. Also Logitech is not a home theatre. It's for pc. No hdmi, no bluetooth. In other words Logitech is the best pc speaker you can buy!! Real home theatre will be having an AV receiver. Budget models start from sony ht iv300 for 22k.

@@zenjm6496 Z623 or z625 is considered as pc speakers. Not the z906. By the way, the sound quality of z906 is way too better than the sony iv 300. As it is thx certified, we can experience the actual and original sound of any movies. I have used the iv 300 for nearly 3years. But now I'm using the logitech z625 for my 55 inch 4k tv. And it sounds clearer and crispier than the iv 300. I'm getting the surrounding sound effect from the 2 satellite speakers of z625(satellites are placed 45 degree facing the wall on both sides), same as the sony iv 300. The z625 delivers a virtual 5.1 surround output. I will be upgrading to the z906 at the end of april. If you don't believe about the sound quality of z906, please watch the review of sony iv 300 in ' jithin pv ' youtube channel. He is comparing the iv 300 with the z906.
