So, I've not fished too often in the last few years and I'm a little out of touch. Can anyone explain to me the reasoning behind now describing lines by their diameter rather than breaking strain? Different manufacturers diameters vary for the same weight line, so surely this should confuse things?
@TheMAPChannel7 жыл бұрын
It's a more accurate way of comparing lines, obviously breaking strains are dependant on knots used amongst other factors. The diameter a consistent way of measuring lines. You'll soon get used to it :)

and add to that now odd number hooks...

If everyone is starting on short pole would it not be good to target the island with a feeder to have that feature to yourself?
@TheMAPChannel7 жыл бұрын
He didn't have an island chuck on that peg, a few of the other lads did catch early on the island chucking over.

Hi Jamie. I've watched a few of your videos now and noticed your technique for landing fish. It's certainly not the way I was taught to do it. I always sink the landing net, play the fish out and then draw it over the net and lift the net up. You seem to keep your net out of the water and then lunge after the fish when it gets close. I'm surprised you don't bump them off with the net doing that. Also I feel you would benefit with a slightly larger landing net. As regards margin fishing, If I know there are fish there and feeding, I feed micro pellets and fish on either corn, a slightly soft paste.or a small cube of meat. I'm not trying to tell you how to fish as you're obviously a far better match angler than i am. Just making observations. Tight Lines!

2 things, Jamie: you mentioned banded hooks; does this mean you prefer bands to lasso? Also, why not risk moving up to a 1gr to counter the flow? Enjoyable video though, as ever.

lasso is more of a speed fishing thing.

The way that the " little baby carp" ( at 11:35 ) was simply just thrown into the keep net was quite disgusting. I understand the principle of match fishing is to catch as much as you can as fast as you can but it sets a poor example
@CaptainMorganxxx5 жыл бұрын
Fish jump and land back at all angles, it does not hurt them, or they would not do it !! dropping a fish into a net does no harm,
@CB-xr1eg5 жыл бұрын
I think he realised he shouldn't have done that, so he tried to make a joke out of it, by saying " little baby carp " the way his mate Andy May does. You get this with some matchmen, if its not a fish they want to catch, or its not very big it gets chucked in the net like a piece of rubbish. Did you know, some fisheries have a rule which says ALL fish must be put into a keepnet using the landing net? I think its about time this was made a general rule.

Question: Why are you throwing your line away. With or without Hook! That's wrong!
@CaptainMorganxxx5 жыл бұрын
He was showing two rigs , both are attached to top twos, the one he threw was thrown to put it out of the way, and would have been picked up and put back on he pole rests.
