@@kruvik It's been awhile, but I think it only took me two or three tries to beat Emperor Ing. Dark Samus took about seven tries.

kruvik funny enough, when I played Metroid Prime 2, I only died twice. Once at the very beginning somewhere and once at the bomb guardian I don’t know how I managed to pull that off XD

My friend and I played through the game together taking turns. When we first fought Emperors Ing's Final Form he warned me, that almost all Bosses have a ramming attack, which is also among there strongest attacks. As soon as he said that, Emperor went in his preparing-to-charge stance and trampled over me, getting me completly off-guard, knocking me in the Phazon. I must have lost 2-3 health containers to that. When we both snapped out what just happend, he's just said: "See? Told you!"

Man i remember me and my cousin took years to beat this game. LITERALLY YEARS. all because we couldn't find the damned temple keys until we got access to the internet for the first time. When we reached this boss we died so many times. Oh the memories.

Clues given are written text where the keys are turned in, dead luminoth solders in light world equivalent, areas accessible only with light armor, red floating specks in that drain health, and unexplored areas in the dark world. When the key hunt began I had enough hints to know where half the keys were, using the clues lead me to the rest. Knowing what to look for helps a great deal.

I can't put into words how much I love this game, and the bosses are definitely one of the main reasons why I do so. Like, from guardians like Boost, Grapple, Power Bomb, to the big boys Amorbis, Chykka, Quadraxis (my favorite), Dark Samus and the best boss fight in the trilogy, Emperor Ing. It's difficult sure, but I am here for the difficulty (except Spider Guardian on the GC version) and just combat in general feels way more engaging, dynamic and refined than Prime 1. If I had to choose one game to play in the trilogy, I'll gladly take Echoes over Corruption and Prime 1 any day (Still love all 3 of them).

Even though Quadraxis is my favorite fight personally because of how unique it is, how it makes use of almost everything you acquired and what a spectacle the fight is, Emperor Ing is the best fight because the stakes are really high, the fight is epic as hell, difficult as it should be for the ruler of the Ing and the music is amazing.

tbh dark samus kinda throws an odd mechanic at you that is only used on the fight and is not as obvious as the machine gun phazon beam

took me a long time to figure out that the best weapon against this guy was the annihilator beam when his heart was light or dark. Don't have to worry too much about him avoiding the attacks unless his mouth was closed.

Honestly prime 2 is my favorite out of all the prime games but it's also the only metroid game I could never beat for the longest time. As a kid I had no problems beating the emperor ing, but dark samus kicked my ass every single time. Then I would rage quit when the game would load my save back to before you beat the emperor ing... I replayed the game years later and beat it but that whole fight still gives me anxiety.

For me it was the opposite problem. Fighting Dark Samus wasn't too difficult once I figured out how the fight worked, but Emperor Ing kicks my ass every single time

I also had problems with the final Dark Samus fight. I thought you had to charge your power beam at the EXACT moment the phazon particles hit your arm cannon to absorb it... and it felt almost impossible getting that. Years later I learned that you could just keep your beam charged the whole time, haha.

As a child, this game was a addiction of mine. And this theme defines that addiction, I couldn’t get it out of my head 😅 20 years later, and this theme is as great as ever. Best boss fight of the trilogy!

I like the sadness this theme conveys. Emperor Ing is desperately fighting to save its homeworld, and will fight to the death to protect it. That almost makes you feel sorry for fighting it, until you remember that the Ing almost did the exact same thing to the Luminoth and would probably do so again if Samus spared them.

On randomizer , fighting this boss without annilator beam is terrrible (on some seed you can skip it) , mostly if the suit are in progressive and you allow to skip light suit, and buff dark aether damage in early e-tanks.. Ngl emperor ing one is easy even with the restriction , but THIS... In hard , go to hell
