They actually used to walk through the crowd during their earlier shows! And also there were a lot of bands who didn't want to put them on their tours back in their early days simply because they drained the crowd and no body wanted to follow them!! That's one really bid reason why they got so big was cause their live shows were so insane!!

This is why I'm really surprised with a concert coming up in New Zealand, they are support for Metallica. I keep saying it's going to feel Metallica is a bit of an anti-climax after Slipknot destroy the crowd.

@@BSGNZ Well that was probably Slipknot simply wanting to show respect to Metallica. And Metallica can hold their own I think. They'll have to play some choice songs to keep it going but I think they'll be ok. Then again with as rabid as the crowd got in San Bernardino, they may need some slowing down after Slipknot. Lol. Instead of opening acts Slipknot is going to have to start having the 'calm the fuck down' acts that go on after them!😂😂

In Slipknots very early shows they used to walk through the crowd, onto the stage and play the show, then walk off stage change and stand in the crowd after and ask for feedback.

nah, they went with a rotating mix of classic rock and punk, with some 80's pop curve balls thrown in. Honestly, it works. They nailed the tone, and the soundtrack helps. Also, MM's ringtone for his wife is Rick Astley, so that was great.

Are you by chance aware of a little band called Alien Weaponry? Because if you aren't, they're worth checking out. They're a three-piece trash/groove metal band from New Zealand who largely sing in Te Reo*, the traditional language of the Māori people. Which is a pretty fresh take on metal, or music in general really. The vast majority of bands anywhere sing in English these days, for broadest appeal. Alien Weaponry though, despite being from a country where the main language actually is English, as I said mostly sing in a language that has basically been slowly dying ever since New Zealand was colonized and which today is only spoken by an estimated 150,000 people. All the same, they're making some serious waves in the metal scene. They're signed with Napalm Records, to begin with. They've performed at major European festivals (including Wacken Open Air). They've done a US tour as a supporting act for Ministry. They're currently on another world tour. Not small accomplishments to boast when the band members are young enough that they got barred from performing with Ministry for their Salt Lake City gig for being under the legal age requirement for the venue. And to have at least one age restricted music video here on KZbin ("Holding My Breath") that two members of the band are officially too young to watch. Oh, I didn't mention that yet, did I? The guitarist/main vocalist and bass guitarist are (to the best of my knowledge) 17 years old at the moment, while the drummer is 19. Their song "Kai Tangata" would be a good place to start. Awesome video too. *English translations are available for several of their videos by just hitting the closed caption button. Though, oddly enough, _not_ for "Kai Tangata", even though it's by far their most popular song. Ah well, you don't need to understand the lyrics to feel the music anyway.

@@Paramithiakaibangers Awesome, however the band didn't seem to be as daring in the antics on stage as previius Slipknot shows I have been to. I atribute it to the fact they are all over 40 and have suffered vsrious on stage injuries. Like I was at the show where Sid broke bith if his anckles jumping off of a speaker. The two percusionist's kits used to be on spinning scissor lifts, now they are attached to the catwalk as part of the stage scene. stuff like that. but the energy was good, and cory Taylor sounded as good as ever.
