Kamacuras is a strange monster, but I like his theme. Sato is a spotty composer; his bad stuff is bad but his good cues are amazing.

Godzillafan93 The only score of Sato's I don't absolutely enjoy is his score for Raids Again. Even then, the main title for that movie was pretty good, if not a little too light-hearted for the film. I loved his island-styled score for Godzilla vs. The Sea Monster and his playful and energetic score for Son of Godzilla and his jazzy big-band score for Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla.

Benjamin Deedrick I honestly don't recall much of the second movie; I sold my copy a couple years ago, and haven't seen it since. The main theme isn't bad, but you're right, it'd be better fitting for a more adventurous film like King Kong versus Godzilla or Mothra. I honestly didn't like the score for Son of Godzilla, but then again, I really don't like that movie anyway (for one thing, it has hands down the worst design for Godzilla in the series). Likewise, the score for Godzilla versus Mechagodzilla is okay at best; Ifukube blows it out of the water with his work for Terror of Mechagodzilla, his finest score period. Ebirah, Horror of the Deep does have a great soundtrack, though, I agree; I even like his take on Mothra's theme.

It really is, but at the same time, it's beautiful. The only good things to come of the Heisei series were the absolutely awesome scores Ifukube did, and the okay ones from the other three who worked on it.

Dark Jedi Like I said, the soundtracks were good (except the spooty one for Godzilla vs. Biollante, which was just an all-the-way-around awful movie anyway). Some of the monster designs were interesting, but the plots were incredibly dumb (the above film, along with Godzilla vs. Mothra and Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla are tied for being the two worst Godzilla movies of all time, barring Godzilla's Revenge and Final Wars).

Both Anguirus & Gigan also popular toho monsters in few of Godzilla Films and they don't have the theme? I also remember Gabara & Megalon also have their themes. Composer Akira Ifukube pretty much kept the same theme for all the monsters except different themes for Mechagodzilla from "Terror of Mechagodzilla" & "Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla II" Biollante had the longest theme here. Two of my top favorite themes are Godzilla Junior & Moguera.

I like to think of Gigan as bearing Frankenstein’s theme from Frankenstein vs Baragon. That theme was used in Godzilla vs. Gigan as the theme of his alien masters, and the combination of it with Ghidorah’s theme (from King Kong Escapes,) is used during Gigan’s rampage with his three-headed partner. This would work in a continuity without Toho’s Frankenstein because much like the legend, Gigan is a living abomination of science.

The first theme in the video used for Kong is the same motif played whenever Kong is onscreen and is actually nothing more than a variant of the native's theme for Kong in the film. Motifs and melodies used to underscore characters while onscreen are typically known as "character themes", thus this is indeed Kong's.

+godzillajpfan The first theme is actually the Xillians' theme, not Gigan's. A variation of the same theme is heard before Gigan even awakens earlier in the film. One could argue Keizer Ghidorah has a theme, but because its woven in with generic battle music it's more likely that Yano was simply scoring the visuals, not the character.

Anguirus shares a theme with Godzilla, which you can hear at this link: Theme(s) of the Week #16 - 60 Years of Godzilla's Themes (From Every Film) Varan does not have a theme within the Godzilla series itself. His theme is heard in "Varan: The Unbelievable" but not a Godzilla movie. (Although Ifukube retooled Varan's theme to be Rodan's new theme in the Godzilla series.)
