You asked about the paper straws vs the plastic cups a while ago. The reason for the paper straws has nothing to do with more or less plastic. The reason is these straws fit perfectly into the nostrils of sea turtles which they accidentally inhale and will eventually drown after they get clogged with gunk. Paper straws will quickly dissolve and cause no harm to these innocent animals.

I just came across your video, I recognized some of the street names..I deliver in the same area as you, well sort of, I don't normally go down that far south, I stay in the Clearwater area mostly..this is a great area for uber eats but I also do doordash, I just don't like that I have to schedule myself.

I love your videos. I don't know if you knew this, but If you tap the little house on the initial order screen, it gives option to open navigation to show how long it will take to get to the house, I've had orders 5 miles but 20 min go get there based on traffic , and yup decline 😉🤷🏾♀️

You should do doordash in a scooter it cost me 5 bucks to fill my tank and maintenance you can do on your own. Plus multi app cuz 136 in 8 hours is not great. In my area i hardly get an order and when i do its not good but since i multiapp i can manage to make 20 an hour

The plastic straws get stuck in sea turtles noses. I agree the plastic straws are more plastic so it doesn't make sense but I guess since they can't get stuck in a nose, they're better? I've seen a YT video of someone pulling a straw out if the turtle's nostril. It's painful to see.

You're very smart! You're doordashing the RIGHT way. I've met so many on the road who spin their wheels taking low-pay, high-mile orders and look tired, frustrated and mad at the world. I tell people, "Food Delivery is LESS about delivery, MORE about THINKING". The average driver takes home $15/hr. I routinly get $25 - $30. Lastly, please, please, PLEASE add Uber Eats. You apply the same strategy to UE like you do DD, except, when you're doing both apps simultaneously, that $14 order you picked up? Now, you can pick up an UE order along the way TO your DD order in that same area, so you went from $14 in 30 minutes of driving, to roughly $25. That's the secret to making money in food apps; making it worth your while. There was a time where ONE app was enough, now you have to do 2 apps at the same time to do what one app was enough to do 4 - 5 years ago. I'm telling you right now, DD will NOT be enough. That's the only way to get $25 - $30hr. Sometimes $35. It involves some time mgt., obviously, and memorizing where you're picking up/dropping off, and keeping track of your timing so you don't piss off customers or get a late charge on your account. You get used to it after about a week, and get good with your timing. This also means you need to know which restrautants are fast and easy pickups, and which ones to absolutely avoid. 9/10, avoid ALL fast food. No matter what EXCEPT for maybe a handful that are consistent. Lastly, UE actually pays quite a bit more per order than DD. UE doesn't "hide" tips, and tells you exactly how much you're getting for an order before you accept. DD are assholes in that they won't tell you the full value of an order before you accept. So that $5 order you thought was crap 'could be' $15 when you drop off. That's what DD hides. But UE gives you all that information upfront. When you double app, if one is dead, the other will usually ding, so you're constantly driving and making money. Very rarely will both apps NOT give you orders. It's like a tag-team. But it keeps you from sitting around for one app to send you something worth your while. This is why most people accept low paying orders because after 20 - 40 mintes of "sitting and waiting for something good to come along", they say, "Fuck it!" and take ANYTHING just to make SOMETHING instead of nothing. With double apping, you will have no issue declining crap orders because the other one is there to pick up the other apps slack. And, sometimes, both apps are on fire so when you drop off an order for one, you alreayd have one waiting for you after drop off. I'm telling you, DoorDash and UberEats together is the magic combition you want to do. Anway, that's the intelligent/mental part of it. HAs nothing to do with driving, but leveraging both apps at the same time for maximum results. MOST drivers do NOT do this, or think to do it, and are always the one who complain about how bad food delivery is. But I consistently do well with this system of double apping. I'll shut up now. I like you. And want you to do well. It's a great gig that allowed me to stay away from working a 9 to 5, fund other projects and do what I want, when I want.

Your information is mostly correct, but just to be exactly correct...Uber Eats DOES hide tips. I've been doing Uber Eats for years and Uber Eats hides any tip over $8.00. They will always say "You received $7.00 and the customer tipped you even more after your delivery. It's not true most times. No one eats their food first, then says "Oh...I just LOVE the way he dropped it off in front of my door without even seeing me. (lol). It's just that Uber Eats hides any tip over $8.00 so Cherry picking wont be so rampid. (lol). Watch and see. Other than that, your information was SPOT ON. Blessings.

@@girlygirl1890 oh yeah! You're absolutely right, haha! I've only been using UE for a year, naturally, you'd have more insight from seeing certain patterns I missed, but it's true, sometimes (though, not often), I'll see I made an extra $3 - $5 extra on top of what I expected to earn on the delivery anyway. I think it's fair to say DD hides MORE of the tip payout, and UE shows MUCH more (though, not all). It's possible UE customers may tip more after delivery, usually depending on conditions (a lot of rain, snow, late night, holidays, etc). But, I have no way of knowing if the tip was already there that I wasn't allowed to see after completing delivery, or if the tip was added after the fact. UE will say, "Customer gave you more than expected", but how do I know if it was an after-delivery tip, or UE cleverly disguising it AS an after-delivery tip to give me the impression the customer went into their app "whist in the middle of enjoying their meal", to tip me MORE than they'd plan? (if, in reality, it was already there to begin with). I don't know. But your theory makes more sense because I wouldn't go back into the app to "tip more then necessary". Then again, I've been given cash tips face-to-face and told to "pick up cash at door" when it wasn't face-to-face. It's interesting how you can get something like food delivery down to a science or formula.
@girlygirl18902 жыл бұрын
@@benjaminjo What I was saying was not a theory that's why I said it so "matter of factly" (lol). In my over 2 years of doing Uber Eats I've had the chance to ask a veteran customer service rep and she confirmed a long time ago that they do hide the tips over $8. Yes, most all seasoned Uber Eats Giggers who have been doing this for a long time are aware of this. But we also know that Doordash is much worse at it, like you said. And yes, I agree, the pay is much better with Uber Eats.
@benjaminjo2 жыл бұрын
@@girlygirl1890 very interesting! Thanks for the insight. I had my suspicion but, never quite sure until you mentioned it. I know there used to be an app to see hidden tips for doordash, until those bastards developed code to stop dashers from doing it lol. I'm surprised it's legal, hiding actual tip earnings, but...I can't complain with $25 - $30/ph driving food around. Beats driving ppl around, and that's always sketchy to me. Cheers!
