Knott’s is my home park and I love this place. I always go on weekdays during January and there are basically zero crowds. I can marathon Ghostrider or just enjoy the park atmosphere, it’s incredible

I'll give you a few more tips. Mrs. Knott's chicken has a take out section. So if you time dinner for after you leave the park you can do take out which is very affordable. On top of that the marketplace has Boysenberry punch concentrate! So you can get a couple of bottles of that and just add water. Also there is a motel that was the Rodeway Inn which is now the Berry inn across the street. If the onsite hotel is pricey, that's a decent alternative and they offer breakfast. Knott's daytime is normally empty during Haunt season. So going right after summer / early fall during the day is pretty cool. Shorter hours but you can do everything in day easily and maybe return for Haunt at night!

I definitely suggest doing Knott's Soak City along side Knott's Berry Farm, but probably not on the same day. I did that because they were both included on our San Diego City Pass and it was the last day we could use it, and although three hours was enough to do all the slides in the waterpark, I never did get to do a few things in the main park like the Calico Railroad, that Mystery Lodge indoor show, the Butterfield Stagecoach, and Sierra Sidewinder. For that reason, I suggest making two separate days for each park. But if you do decide to do both on the same day, get your hand stamped before heading over to Soak City, because you'll probably want to return to the main park later on. Another suggestion I have is to do Calico Mine Ride first followed by Timber Mountain Log Ride afterwards. The log ride is the most popular ride there, and since the mine ride is right next to it, you can bet it will build up just as long of a line.

The Marketplace parking lot (for the restaurant) allows the first hour free, and the restaurant can only validate 2 HOURS after for a total of 3. Then it's $10 per hour after. So if you're at the park longer than 5 hours, general parking is best for $30

Went on the calico mine ride and it was screeching so loud…the tracks need to be oiled. The dynamite explosion part where it is supposed to speed up, was so screechy and slow. That ride needs to be refurbished bad..it’s such a classic and fun ride

when my family & i used to have season passes back in like 2009 ish we always parked a few blocks down from where that auto nation is. it's a bit of a walk but will save you like 45 mins if you're there till close. especially during haunt season

i got dropped off at 6:00 a.m at the McDonalds up the road, the 2nd one cause first wasn't 24hrs, and hung out there and drank some coffee and at 9:05 i started walking it was far, but i loved it im from Ohio and it was my first time ever in Cali, oh it was so fun waking up and seeing Xcelerator, silver bullet and hangtime for the first time, i was so excited got right in and went to ghost rider instantly and was 5 min in the morning than 90+ mid day.

I had 5.5 days here last month during Peanuts Festival. I love the vibes and sugar-free Boysenberry punch. (And as many rides on Ghostrider as I can handle! Especially after dark!) With your all season dining...grab the burrito with salsa at the Bakery by Ghostrider. Chorizo is my favorite.

If you go on a weekday in the window between when Halloween Haunt ends and before Merry Farm begins, fast pass is completely unnecessary. I’ve gone many times during that window. The only coaster that isn’t a walk on or station wait, is Ghostrider. I usually show up an hour after the park opens, ride all coasters twice, as well as the log ride and mine train twice, and leave by 6. During that time, I’ll also peruse most of the shops in ghost town and get a boysenberry funnel cake. Then, I’ll go to Mrs Knott’s for dinner, and there’s no wait. TIMING IS EVERYTHING

@FatalPoo Cedar Point is still in the top 5 rankings by everyone, & Knottsberry is not even close. Attendance may be higher, but Cedar Point is only open 6 months out of the year & Ohio doesn't exactly have California's weather during those 6 months. Cedar Point is the crown jewel of all the Cedar Fair parks.

@@MarcusDET Keep in mind that Knott’s has theming, quality food, events all year round (ie. Scary Farm), and is overall a more versatile park with a great focus on quality. Cedar point focuses ONLY on coasters, and while that may be great, it means that there is less focus on the quality of the actual park.

im glad i went in early cause ghost rider and Hangtime was a walk on, but later on ghost rider and hangtime and Xcelerator had like 90 min waits. Xcelerator was down and waited by the Entrance 15 min, and went right on the first time 2nd time was like 80 min, i wish Montazuma was operating it was in pieces in April 2024 when i went. but i ridden everything except the water rides and both dark rides so i was able to get 2 on everything except pony express, jag, and Sierra Sidewinder, 3 on Hangtime. all in 1 day 10:00 a.m-8:30 p.m. and a week later i rode top thrill 2 for preview lol. i love Knotts and will never forget the day i had i wanna go back soon but life won't allow it anytime soon

6:13 “thunder mountain log ride” huh? But I’ll agree it’s better now since splash mountain is going through it’s ridiculous re-theming to Tiana’s bayou and I love timber mountain, but up against splash mountain it’s not even close. The music on splash and the drops far exceeded timber, plus I got a lot more wet riding in front of a full log on splash than I did on timber. I will give credit where credit’s due though, timber was the inspiration for splash mountain

You should've added these 2 current facts: 1. Nobody knows when and if Xcelerator will reopen. It's been closed for a very long time now. Also Monte is closed for an extended time for complete ride refurbishment. Those are 2 major rides not running in the foreseeable future.

Isn't entertaining the people waiting in line for Mrs. Knott's chicken the reason they started building the amusement park? I just came back from my first time. I did almost the opposite of your attack plan, ending up buying a fast track for ghostrider. I didn't think that I would ever be able to justify $20 for a single ride. I have to say in retrospect that I think it was worth it.
