SeaWorld San Diego doesn’t have the greatest lineup of coasters, but it’s the perfect lineup of coasters for a park as small as it is and I love it all the same.

yeah its great if you live in SD, because Six Flags is like 3 hrs away and Knotts is 2 hrs away. SeaWorld is right there, and has pretty extreme coasters if you want thrill. Then there's legoland which is really just for toddlers and kids.

I recently on these rides the other day with my wife. Manta is a good underrated ride and surprisingly quick ride. Electric eel is a good one and when you said “almost off my seat” is definitely true. The lower half of the lock is tucked and the upper half is loose and when you go up when you rock in the beginning and after the twirly that goes around makes it feel you’ll fall off. Emperor is prolly my favorite reminds me of Parelis plunge at Knott’s just minus the water. Overall it is a smooth ride.

Wow, Sea World, easiest theme park to get to from Phoenix since it does not have LA Basin traffic, has really changed since I first took my daughter there on a surprise daughter/daddy bonding trip in '06, to prepare her for a bigger surprise--a Disneyworld trip my wife and I planned for her later that year. My wife and I did not want her to be distracted from schoolwork looking forward to trips like I used to be when I was "yiddle", being even unable to sleep with so much pending excitement, so we'd deceive my daughter into going on vacation with one or both of us, which she just adored. Seaworld only had one coaster, and we'd go there between Thanksgiving and Christmas when the crowds were small. We stayed at Doubletree Mission Valley on San Diego's Light Rail, going to Seaworld on Day One on my driving vacation from Phoenix. On day two we visited San Diego's beach and bayfront. Day three, San Diego Zoo then on day four, we'd take our daughter to Legoland telling her it was our finale to go home. Depressed, we woke up on the "final" morning of our trip telling our daughter we were taking a different way home--she fell asleep only to wake up, hearing us whisper about an evening at Disneyland and California Adventure, when the parks were empty and we had them to our euphoric daughter's surprise, all to ourselves. We would always start with the Tiki Tiki Room, Pirates, the Haunted Mansion, Splash Mountain, then work our way to Thunder Mountain Railroad, the Matterhorn, and finally the sub voyage and space mountain, working our way around the crowds gathering for the parades. Then we'd hit California Adventure, and all the rides we loved back then in the first decade of this century, before returning to our base hotel, Doubletree Mission Valley which we chose because I used to be Doubletree's corps systems purchasing manager and systems support specialist supervising a help desk that serviced more than 50 company owned properties. I also chose it because the Doubletree Mission Valley has the best family indoor pool, and family outdoor pool, in San Diego even though they are not on the beach, they are walking distance to an outdoor mall and an entertainment district. Now with so many coasters, Sea World San Diego has grown from the small place it used to be when I first moved to Burbank in '66 with my folka, just two years after it opened we went there, to the San Diego zoo, but we really preferred the LA Zoo at Griffith park and we went to Disneyland several time. We moved to the SF Bay Area which only had one, non ride theme park, Marine World near San Mateo CA. Around '76 they opened Marriott's Great America which I first visited with a high school class in '77. It later became Paramount's Great America and I visited it a few more times, finally stopping in '93. In a few years it will sadly be torn down to put up a business park and high density housing. However Marine World moved and paved over a golf course my Dad and I used to golf at when I was in college and moved to Vallejo--the news celebrated "Noah's Ark" as some of the animals were moved by barge, their keepers felt they could handle the trip better. To stay in business they added coasters, trimming away a couple of aquatic shows, and are now Six Flags Discovery Kingdom, the amusement park we bored teens in nearby Napa wish we could have had in the late 70's, and when Great America closes, it will be the only Northern California theme park and window to the sea like Sea World is. I moved after I married to Phoenix and we have three aquariums here, the most significant being Wildlife World Zoo, and the next most significant being Sea Life Aquarium in Arizona Mills Mall, and we have a wonderful Butterfly World in Scottsdale AZ. Late this fall, a Mattel based theme park will open with two coasters with indoor lines to avoid the heat, a car ride like Autopia at Disneyland, and a 4D ride like Soarin' at California Adventure. In fall '25, a mega, Orlando sized resort of more than one thousand rooms will open with an artificial beach and other water based attractions, just south of the Cardinals football stadium. Phoenix where I live is aiming to be "the next Orlando" and though I will not live to see that completely pan out, unless a nuclear war happens it will be. Our heat we brag is much more withstand-able than Orlando's hot, humid, summers. But the most perfect climate in the world, for my family, has always been San Diego, home of Sea World, and other than Mexico's Rocky Point, the closest beach to Phoenix.

ROLLER COASTERS ARE LIKE SEX: You shouldn’t TALK NONSTOP during either. Telling the viewers: “We’re upside down now!”…only works with 2 year old viewers, I mean, seriously…it’s just a wee bit weird and ridiculous to constantly get a blow by blow rundown of every angle, turn, and inversion that is already quite obvious to anyone that hears his voice. It doesn’t make the ride any more exciting, in fact, it distracts from the experience severely and is just plain creepy to hear… (I’ve thought this for many years when stumbling onto similarly narrated coaster videos, but never said anything until THIS one, which just takes the cake in the “Man, I wish he would just STFU already!” - department.)
