This show has been updated a few times since it opened. I loved the original the best. After you walked through the water tunnel you were in the big room. All of the water and fire happened and then suddenly - blackness. When the lights came back on you were back in the room with the revolving door. All you could think was, "how the Hell did I get back here?" It took me many times through before I realized that a wall came down from the ceiling to make it look like we had returned to the previous room. Amazing effect.

And in the original, the tour guide was actually Zeus in disguise. He’d magically change in the last room and fight Poseidon (who was the bad guy in the original). The original storyline was much better and the final battle was less cheesy.

@@whatthepunk143 hmmm...I think there's still ways they can make some improvements to the attraction, like having the final battle between Posiden and the other guy fill the full water instead of only a bit of it. Also cut down on the fire a bit whilst they're fighting, otherwise it's kind of hard to see what's going on between the two. I went to Universal as a kid, and this ride/tour/attraction stuck with me for years. The story and theming of it is pretty awesome, and I really love this performance of Taylor. The dialogue could be SOOO cheesy and over-dramatic, but this guy gives it a deadpan low key macho feel; like Rick O'Connell's cousin or a really subtle Indiana Jones, (Intern-ana Jones?) I really root for him. That shot of him running upstanding and going through the water vortex was genuinely epic. (That water vortex is CRIMINALLY underused and is the coolest thing EVER.) And when I went through this attraction years ago, I remember the actor giving a really genuine and concerned performance, and I was so confused when it ended after the big fight and we walked out because _We never see Taylor again. There is no follow-up with him!_ I was anticipating entering another room to see him there and give a closing monologue (like the Great Movie Ride [RIP]) but he's just GONE. Did he DIE? did he gets stuck in the underwater temple forever? Did he sacrifice himself? I thought whoever holds the trident gets the powers of Poseiden? Why did Taylor never use the powers? _I NEED TO KNOW_

When We quickly got Out of the rain, I look at the tunnel and everyone else was going down the path, I was like “Might as well join em” when we got to the first section my friends were complaining about sore legs. I was saying “I deeply regret doing this” then when the Door opened on the second section I was stunned. I said “Remember few minutes ago I said I deeply regret doing this? Forget I said that we Gotta go in there” as I motioned them to the water archway. We were in the front section and when the lights flipped, I was looking left and right to find where we are then when they came back up it was a Very Big stage and when the show ended it reverted Back into the room where we were before we were transported. I was still trying to process what happened when we got transported I said “This has to be some very Big Magic going on, cuz I freakin Loved it!!!!” So yeah a accidental stumble to a attraction became my fav in IOA.

I won't be surprised if Universal gets rid of this. I'll never forgive 'em for getting rid of their amazing gems such as Dueling Dragons, Jaws which I wish I could smell again haha, and don't get me started on Twister. The fact that it was replaced with a Jimmy Fallon ride 🙄 really... And Earthquake/Disaster. That pre-show!! Come'on haha!! This I love, and what I love- Universal destroys. Soon, this will be the only way to relive this experience unfortunately. Thanks for the amazing footage. I love Poseidon's Fury so much, I always chose to be stationed near it when I worked at the park!

I just LOVE that place because it's a family destination for my wife and I and we've been there several times in past years and I can't wait to go there again as soon as possible...

One of the best attractions in my opinion. So sad they closed it down last year 😢

Imagine if this temple in universal was a portal to Sea World. Where one element of the sea leads to a full sea themed park.

Even though the spinning water room smelled like feet this is one of my all time favorite attraction at the parks and island of adventure is the best park out of the three at universal

Sad I only found out about this ride as news of its closing.. that water vortex portal must have been such a trip to actually walk through. Hope they find a way to incorporate this technology into a future attraction!!

The last time I was here, my kid sister just so happened to be picked by the guide, and he gave all of his attention to just her the entire experience.
