yea this was just a primer, the fed com war its self is a bunch more reading i haven't finished yet. some of these old novels are hard to find for a reasonable price.

Victor made the best decisions possible for the fed commonwealth. It seems his mother made the most mistakes. I would only clarify that the combine manipulated victor since outreach, and that the entire original storyline is actually a romance between Isis and victor as they have parallel paths, both fighting for peace and justice.

so far in my research I agree good times dont last long in the battletech universe. I haven't gotten too far into the ILLCLAN era so maybe our happy ending is somewhere in there.

@@TheMiteyPirate Yes but no. At the moment book wise all I have are the IlClan sourcebook, the various Dark Age Novels leading to Hour of the wolf, and Tamar Rising to speak from. Right now with the HPG network still 80% down or so, there's been more of a rise in micro powers like the Chaos March of old. However this time the biggest territory to do that is the former Falcon holdings since their entire Touman went up and fought in Terra. They haven't come back, so some second liners and civilians are making a go at ruling for themselves. The Lyrans are barely holding on after two clans smacked them around, keeping a lot of their forces split to guard key areas from Wolves and Falcons; due to the HPG network issues they don't know that both Clans are basically nursing their wounds at Terra. So calls for reclaiming worlds from the Clanners are falling on deaf Archon ears. On the FWL side, they still have a big Glan Protectorate just sitting there on their borders. We won't know much until Empire Alone releases. Federated Suns is still reeling from the fact the Dracs took New Avalon and the Capellans took New Syrtis, but Julian Davion did make some inroads to liberating the Capellan March at the moment. The Cappies themselves move into Republic Territory, thinking they'll be fighting the ROTS forces, but don't know that the Republic is basically dead now that Clan Wolf took Terra and is forming his IlClan. So there IS peace, but more in the sense of all the peace you can have when locked in a room full of gun powder and you don't light the match yet.

Glad you enjoyed, there was so much art commissioned for those eras, I think some of those pics add a lot of depth to the conflict and person struggle for regular folks and heroes of the b-tech universe. The pic of victor watching the broadcasts after claiming the throne is my fav out of the art i have seen so far.

Victor was actually promoted to Precentor Martial. Iirc the rank of Primus was kept by the Blakists after the schism.

Kathrine/Katrina never had any legal claim to the throne of the Federated Suns. A holder of the Federated Suns throne is required to have served years in a front line military unit and Kathrine/Katrina never served in the military. Edit: Also Kathrine/Katrina had plans laid to have Arthur murdered but someone else, Word of Blake, if memory serves, used a bombing to make it look like Arthur was dead then kidnapped him before she gave the order to kill him.

Well when someone does little excerpts like this it’s easier for players to pick an era they want to play in or while you’re setting up your game you turn this on and let the other players in the scenario listen to what’s going on in the era of that scenario

I am not sure but is it really established that Arthur was murdered by Katrina? If I remember correctly its been kept ambiguous throughout the books even hinting Arthur becomes Devlin Stone at some point.
