Really well done and welcome to the hill climb addiction. Can't wait to see what's next. There should be plenty of the Surrey and Kent climbs that should be doable in a day trip for you.

Please get on Strava, if for no other reason than it will accurately track your time on all of these climbs you will do without having to manually time yourself. If you don't have a bike computer that supports Strava (most do), you can run Strava from your phone.

Well done Ryan. Have loved watching your progress and you've provided me with hours of entertainment on my road to recovery. Thanks for all the time and effort you put into these videos, (and you wife for tagging along with the camera). If you want an ultra challenge for next year, Chase the Sun entry opens in a few days ;-). It's 200 miles trying to get from the East coast of England to the West coast before the sun sets. You could compare a cycling ultra to your running ultras ;-)

Well done Ryan, great effort and great time. Never done it myself. I second the bike computer, if you have the money get a power meter as well and get on Strava. You can also get the 100 climbs as an app and will automatically log your times once completed via Strava. I have only been riding for 1.5 years now, I have lost 2 stone and in better health. My challenge this year was hills so I entered the Dragon Ride Gran Fondo in Wales which I completed in June, in myself I smashed it and I’m now addicted. I’m in Chelmsford which is not far from you, at the end of Feb there is Hell Of The Ashdowns in Kent so it’s close and the following week is the Kentish Killer (beginning of March) which you should have a go at. I have been looking at the Fred Whitton which you have to enter by ballot. Have a look, once you start, you can’t stop

Dude! That was EPIC! Take it from someone who did a lot of road riding. 9% and 15% grades are VERY tough. And you did it on a GRAVEL BIKE. Lord almighty. Now, forget everyone else's time up the Beacon. 9:43 is Your time. Come back next year at this time and beat that time. Oh, yeah and Tracie is Brilliant! She's so supportive. If I had asked my first (and now ex) wife to drive an hour and a half to film me climbing some hill she would have told me to go f myself. 🙂

I've meant to commend that book to you before, but the South East edition. It has some absolute belters in it, and some a bit closer to you, too. Massive respect for tackling that climb. It's a tough one, for sure (I often see people getting off and walking up it). You looked great going up that; in control the whole way. And that's a great time. The Strava segment actually finishes a bit before where you stopped your watch (stops about where your partner was standing), so you can knock a few more seconds off it, too. I feel the same way - I love climbing, despite being a relatively heavy guy. Sneaking a peak at your Zwift profile, it looks like you and I have a great deal in common on a bike (racing score, weight, ride style preference) - with the exception of me coming to Zwift from an outdoor-only experience rather than picking up IRL after loving Zwift. Given these apparent similarities, I have a question about Zwift racing that you may have insight regarding: Can any early conclusion be drawn from finishing alone & smack in the middle of races? Lead group well ahead, no one anywhere near me behind. This after about 7-8 miles in when I drop from the lead group.
