@@josephgunnels1726 I would love him, but only if we trade back to around 12. But if DT Mason Graham or CB Will Johnson Falls to us We have to take that.. in my opinion, we have more of a desperate need on the defense than a TE even if that means he could help the RT on offense. If we can’t stop the other teams offense and we’re always behind then we have to pass. We can’t run the ball and control the clock. That’s what happened last year with Aaron Rodgers. We were always behind. We couldn’t get the defense off the field and get the offense back on the field. Having to pass all the time just open the door up for other teams defenses to just pin their ears back and blitz Aaron Rodgers all day.

@lbcoach2295 oh okay so your logic is, they have taken D-Linemen in the first round before, so let’s not do it again? If you are a team that consistently finds yourself in the Top 10, you should be drafting BPA. Because you have far too many holes to not consider the best player on the board. In this case, it’s Mason Graham.
@iiLitez9 күн бұрын
My list is a bit different, where I’m at with my evaluations so far this is sort of my wishlist rn: 5. Malaki Starks: Would prefer if we traded down 1st tbh. Safety at 7 would leave me with a “meh” feeling initially, but Starks is an elite talent and I don’t think I’ll care how high we took him once he’s picking off Tua twice a year. At the end of the day, taking the best player on the board is never a bad idea and it is a huge need as well 4. Trade Down: There’s really only 3 realistic options for us that I would stick and pick for, if they aren’t on the board I would try to move down. This is a dramatically weaker class at the top than previous years with a ton of “good” but not “elite” talent. Why be the 1st team to take a “good” player when you can move back, collect more picks, and still get a “good” player on top of it 3. Tet McMillan: A good compliment to Garrett and can replace Devante Adams once he leaves (if he even stays at all) and Allen Lazard IMMEDIATELY, his release at the line needs a lot of work but his size, hands, and sneaky craftiness with the ball in his hands gives us a WR archetype we don’t have 2. Tyler Warren (hot take) I’m a lot higher on Warren than most people with him being my #4 player in the class. We struggle with run blocking and we need another weapon on offense. Tyler Warren is arguably a better run blocker than Olu (not joking) and has hands as good as Garrett. I watch his tape and I see George Kittle and I want that on this team! Now ideally we trade down 1st and then grab him but if we can’t find a partner I would STILL take him at 7! 1. Will Johnson: If he’s there, run the card up! This guy’s instincts and athleticism are ridiculous. Would give us another lockdown corner opposite of Sauce but he also has the elite ball skills that Sauce lacks to create turnovers! HM: Mason Graham: IMO, Mason Graham is good but not elite. He’s not Jalen Carter coming out of Georgia, he’s not Q coming out of Alabama, he’s just a solid, steady high end #2 guy in my eyes and there’s a ton of “good” DTs that I believe are not that far off from Graham talent-wise that will be sitting right there for us in round 2. I wouldn’t hate the pick if it was Graham but I think we’d be missing out on some truly elite talent if we took him at 7

Why wouldn’t you want the best of a good bunch?
@AStewSr10 күн бұрын
Im sorry, but taking the best DT and putting him next to Quinnen Williams is a no-brainer. Call me old fashioned, but if you didn't see the NYJ's SACK EXCHANGE from the 80's you wouldn't understand how devastating being able to get to the QB from the inside and the outside is. Those two will eat double teams and allow Quincy and Sherwood to move freely to make tackles and cover RBs and TEs out of the back field. It gives McDonald and Johnsohn 1vs1 on the outside giving them a better chance at winning those battles. It makes cover WRs and RBs much easier because our DBs don't have to cover them for more than 5 seconds. The fastest way to the QB is up the middle. In a conference with Allen, Mahomes, Lamar, Burrow, Stroud, Fields, Maye, Milton, Richardson, we have to be able to get to the QB. The biggest problem the NYJ had last year was not the offense or the Oline. It was the fact that the defense couldn't stop the run and get off the field on 3rd and 4th downs. MG is arguably the best interior Dlineman in the class. I would still draft another DT in round 4-7 because we need the depth, and the talent is available in those rounds along with RB.

@TheMockDraftGuy First, when drafting in the top 10 I prefer to get someone at a premium position and DT is not a premium position. Second, when a draft is deep at a position why not draft a player at another position of need and hopefully get a good player later on. If DT was the only pressing need then take him but the Jets have many holes to fill.
@TheMockDraftGuy9 күн бұрын
I don’t know if you watch Jets football or not. But they were consistently punched in the teeth by teams running in between the tackles. Maybe it’s not a premium position, but it’s arguably their biggest need. When a position is needed that badly, I don’t care if it’s “premium” or not.

I love this evaluation... except for Tet McMillan. I wouldn't hate the pick, but I think there are other WRs in this draft that can be coached up.we could get better value in the 2nd round if he is there by taking WR Savion Williams from TCU. He is 6'5, 230lbs and runs a 4.45 forty. His hands are not as good as McMillan's but he is slightly faster and a High School QB that became a WR and makes circus catches look routine. If we draft DT Mason Graham, S Starks, or CB Johnsohn. It would make sense to go WR or TE. In 2nd rd.
@TheMockDraftGuy10 күн бұрын
Tet is the best Receiver in the draft, doesn’t need to be coached up. I’m all about players can impact from day one. Especially for the Jets, who can’t develop anyone lol.
@AStewSr10 күн бұрын
@@TheMockDraftGuy I understand how you feel and it is helpful to have an impact player right away. However, we have more need for defensive players, especially the D line positions. To me that’s where we want players that could step in and be impactful from day one. If we get a mason Graham , and put him next to Williams. You immediately improve your run defense from a top 30 team, to a top 10 team. And I’m sure you realize that improves the linebacker play and the cornerback play immediately. I have to trust that the new coaching regime can turn around and coach up guys that need a little extra help. I’d like to see someone like Chrebet be offered a chance to come in and work with these young WR‘s. And if we keep Davante Adams, you have no need for McMillan. Draft TCU WR Savion Williams and he’ll be ready to take Adam’s position next season. Lastly, with Big WR’s in our division like Keon Coleman, we need our own big WR red zone threat. I would love a Tyler Warren, but we didn’t draft well enough to be able to take a TE at #7. In this draft so deep with TE talent, we could find one in around 3-5 and trust that the coaches can get him to where we need him to be

You still have 2 3rds and 2 5ths. How about the 20 year old Rt Tackle from LSU , then wide receiver, line backer and whoever is high on the Draft Board. 2 top notch free agents and we are set. The QB from Ohio State is intriguing and the pass rusher from Ohio State is intriguing also.

Hilarious take on Sanders. They said the same thing about Lamar Jackson. These are the facts: the kids coming out today can play. What matters in the NFL is coaching and the makeup of the player.
