Did you test latency? Latency on the generic cards tends to be much worse, to the point that your lips may not be synced to your audio.

The difference is the possibility to record to OBS in 4K 30fps natively. I've got the 40€ regular and it's excellent but it is noticeable for the details and the colour skin tone.

Did you take into consideration that cheap card can only capture yuv2 in 5fps , and cam link 4k should be able to do 60fps 1080p, wouldn't it look a lot more different?

I’m wanting to mainly use something to record in OBS to cut down on editing time for a podcast, and maintain different scenes/camera angles to switch seamlessly without recording via camera and having 2 different files and having to edit them in Together. Will the Elgato - Cam Link allow quicktime to record at 1080p-60 on a mac? I have the generic capture device, it will only go up to 720 -60. I use Quicktime to copy my hi-8 camcorder footage on my mac.
