I really, really thought you were going to say "Here's what you do: take the top-heavy bass off and throw it away. Now pick up a J-bass. There. Problem solved." But this is actually the perfect hack, thank you!
@themomozone9 жыл бұрын
+Dan Paveley , thats an awesome music gear joke dude, thats funny, but never the less yeah it totally works on top heavy instruments, no contests kind of stuff, thanks for checking it out and if you want to see some cool brain hacks, every friday i put up a new short 2 min motivation video that will keep your mind from going south..see ya

Buddy… this idea is a straight up game changer!… I recently purchased a Gibson NR Thunderbird bass. Love the tone. Love the look. Don’t love the neck dive or angle of the bass when playing with a strap because of the neck dive. I used this idea at a gig last night and it WORKED LIKE A CHARM… the bass sat the perfect angle all night long… thank you!
@themomozoneАй бұрын
right on buddy , so so happy this worked for you , i know i was so happy when i figured it out for my 12 string which is quite a bit more heavy then your thundrrtbird ...yeah brother....thanks for the energy and have an awesome day you totally rock M
@NoLifeKingRL3 жыл бұрын
I'm using a carabiner looped around the strap and then one of my belt loops for similar effect. It's nice, because I don't have to unhook my strap to do the hack. Just clip the carabiner on the belt loop after you get the strap over your head and you're good to go.
@themomozone3 жыл бұрын
awesome , i had tryed that but found that it wasnt tight enough for me as the carbiner slid up and down a bit and i like it tight with no movement at all ...but if i punched a hole in the perfect place for the leanth of the carabiner then nothing would slide around !!!! either way im happy you found a way my friend, have an awesome day and thanks for checking this video out, you rock M
@NoLifeKingRL3 жыл бұрын
@@themomozone Ah yeah that's a good point about it sliding around. I have found that to be annoying. I'll probably stick with the carabiner for practice, but if I'm ever good enough to perform the belt would be the clear winner for sure. Cheers!

So simple and such a cool idea. I have in the past seriously added a heavy chain to the end of my strap, looped a hammer into the end of the strap, and when those “fixes” didn’t work, locked the offending neck-diver into its case forever. Great hack. Thank you!

Thank you for this! i just bought an old Hamer bass, and it didn't have a strap on it when i tried it out at the pawn shop. (i bought it because it was so ugly and unique.) got home and realized it was actually better than my main bass. but when i put a strap on it it just took a huge nose dive. so i looked it up and found a bunch of mods but i have no time because i go on tour in a few days. this just saved me! thank you so much!

The downside is that you give yourself a 'wedgie' after a small amount of time.
@themomozone3 ай бұрын
thats funny but i assure you that doesn't happen , as long as your belt isn't totally loose and really the strap is off to the side not the middle where your back is, that is when you are in potential wedgi territory lol ...its the best fix for top heavy instruments ...right on have a great day and thanks for the visual M
