Oh my goodness. That was a titch sad watching you all leaving your home for the last time and just remembering all of the home improvements you made. I think my all time favorite was the closet makeover in your bedroom. Can not wait to see your new home. Im so grateful you all made it to Idaho safe and sound.....what a journey!!!! I’ve only ever moved once in my life. I was born in Kansas City and lived in a little blue house that I was raised in all the way up the age of 6 years old. I loved our home, it wasn’t huge, but it fit our family of 5 perfectly. Then, when I was still 6 me and family moved to Brazil. I still remember my mom rushing to pack everything while wrangling all three kids and getting everything ready. It was hard to leave the house, but I had no idea that it would ever belong to someone else. I’m 16 years old now, and still cherish the memories that were created when I lived there once upon a time. I had a magical childhood I won’t ever forget. Whenever we visit now, we pass by the house that my grandpa and dad painted themselves ( it’s still blue btw ) and think of who must live in there. Anyways, we made that simple house our home and I just wanted to tell you guys who I’ve been watching for a while, that YOU made that house your home, and the memories you made with your children will always stay, and as for the house....it will forever be yours, it’s just also gonna be someone else’s💙

I felt a little choked up when I heard you were all sick on moving day. That would have been trying! Thanking God for getting you there safely. Moving is so strange, exciting and sad all at the same time. So many mixed emotions all converging into this one big thing! We moved a couple of years ago from a dump to a gorgeous house but we had been at that place for 25 years. My son was two when we moved there. So even though the move was exciting we left behind all these memories, including a Japanese maple that i planted as a baby! So i can emphatize with some of the emotions you were feeling. Can’t wait to to see the next chapter…..thank you for sharing it with us ❤️

My son and I watched your episode on yippee and when you were driving through the snow storm I could definitely relate a bit, except I grew up where there is snow so I've driven in it for years. We move halfway across Canada a year and a half ago, in the middle of winter. There was a good stretch of road where we couldn't see a thing, it was dark out and the snow storm was so bad everything just looked white in front of us. It was terrifying. We were also on a road with not much cell service. Where we live now is very isolated, the next town from ours is 3 hours away, and there is absolutely no cell service between, so it can be scary driving, especially in winter. I am so glad your family made it safely and its good to see you have settled in nicely.

Renting a UHAUL in California and leaving it in another state is SO EXPENSIVE!!! My nephew rented a Uhaul trailer for $69 for 3 days from Oklahoma to San Diego. After 6 months he decided to move back to OKC and the same trailer for 3 days in reverse was $1,400 dlls!

Can't imagine moving so many states away (and to a very different climate) with our kids at those ages. I suppose God would have given us the strength, providence, and wisdom but it still must have been tough for you. Funny coincidence, we actually had a period of our life where employment might have taken us out of New York (before we had any kids) and we had the choice of moving to Minnesota, Colorado, and.... Idaho! Truth! We had to make a decision about it within 2 weeks (while Dale was actually in Idaho for 2 weeks working with the company he might have been employed by), so we had to make our decision while we were apart... lots of prayer and phone calls... it would have been a great opportunity, no matter what state we chose to move to... but we didn't have God's peace about any of them so we ended up staying in NY... and the rest is history! Several jobs and 4 kids later,, God has been with us through every step and many ups and downs. We've never regretted it one minute! Praying that He does the same for you as you step by faith into this next phase of your lives!
