I could not move on without mentioning!!! Related to girls hyping and that being “hysteria” but guys going nuts for sports is actually admirable. Armchair Expert had a linguist on- sounds boring but it was shockingly interesting. One of the points she brought up was this very thing. The Latin root of Hysteria is uterus. So doctors would give women HYSTERectomies to remove their uterus when they were hysterical. And that bias still remains when speaking the difference about teenage girls going nuts for a boy bad vs boys going nuts for a sports team.
