Love this. The lactic acid myth is still prevalent in my field of coaching, which is swimming. I feel at this point, everyone should know better.

Great, so how can I increase lactate threshold and endurance in climbing rope, up and down.
@TheMovementSystem
@TheMovementSystem 3 жыл бұрын
Training near the lactate threshold can help push it up so that you don't reach metabolic acidosis until a higher HR allowing you to work for longer intervals and/or at a higher intensity

A coherent explanation... Warming up before exercises is believed to reduce muscle soreness. Why is that?

both hydrogen and pyruvate out of the blood stream goes to the mitochondria after buffered by lactate right ?

Ok, but the lactate buffering isn’t complete without active transport, is it? Does the release of pyruvate actually reduce the acidity in itself, or is it just that it allows the H+ to be removed via active transport once it’s bound to the lactate? When you’re below LT2 and in “lactate shuttling”, presumably the removal of lactate via active transport is what is keeping blood acidosis low / keeping pH high, whereas once you go over the onset of blood lactate accumulation, it doesn’t matter that your body is producing more pyruvate, it’s not going to buffer the H+ and restore the pH so long as the active transport and lactate oxidation, Cori cycle, etc. can’t keep up. Do I have that right? I can’t see how it would make sense any other way

I don't think the studies reveal that the muscle acidosis is the cause of the "muscle burn".
@iancarson8614

is this factually incorrect? i understood that glucose was always used anaerobically at first then fully metabolised aerobically in the mitochondria. others say that that lactic acid does not exist in the body, because lactate is a base, not an acid.

Does strech is good for muscle sorness or is a myth?
@TheMovementSystem

From what I’ve seen there’s likely little or no reduced soreness from stretching

your title says lactic acid you proceed to explain about lactate explicitly skip explaining difference between lactic acid and lactate. very unprofessional
