If Zach Snyder doesn't care how the ships function, then why show us anything at all? By showing a boiler room and some kind of god-thing, he actually creates questions that the audience would not have asked. It's a spaceship, it flies in space, you literally could just say nothing about the technical details and everyone would have accepted that premise. But no, instead because I guess boiler rooms are cool or something, we now have ships that demand further explanation. This is like some kind of anti-writing or something, it's uncanny.

honestly it's worse than that when you really think about it. Like, dumber than the JJ Abrams 'mystery box' theory bad. Because bad as JJ is, he at least knows he's doing it. The more you show the more you encourage your audience to ask questions, at least the ones who aren't the 14 year old edgelords who will defend this (you know they're coming). So Zack Snyder isn't just being lazy, he's unknowingly opening himself up to be asked questions he's not only completely unprepared to answered, but doesn't even seem aware he asked in the first place. He may insist he doesn't care, but that doesn't actually matter, because by showing us these things he's already started that conversation he's not even aware he's part of So when he gives his next dumb interview insisting the problem is with the people who think to hard.... no, Zack, the problem is you turned your brain off THEN wrote this movie

That royal family assassination scene is bad in literally every aspect. Boss man orders her to kill the girl, she does it, he swore he'd protect her, then he just betrays her literally instantly, doesn't even get her unarmed first. It's pointless and actively ruined his plans! He planned to kill them and had a LOT of support! He betrayed her because he's evil, and Snyder thinks this is how evil rulers act. I think he read somewhere audiences want more straight up villains and misunderstood what that meant. So these guys just take the shittiest option cause ooooh they bad! It's literally an evil DnD campaign full of players that don't know what evil people actually DO. They just walk into a city and immediately burn down an orphanage because it'd be super funny before trying to rape 20 barmaids before the DM gets up and leaves.
@petriew20184 ай бұрын
You forgot to mention the part where the hero could also have gunned down all the real assassins with impunity right then and there and simply blamed them for the assassination instead... which they're guilty of, and she'd have their bloody knives at the crime scene to prove it.... because before she somehow escapes she's the only one in the room with a gun.... The movie happens because the heroine is shown to be a blithering idiot who lets evil people get away with their evil deeds....

Haven't watched Andor and I may give it a go, although I more than likely won't, but SW has more or less been ruined for me at this stage and I don't think it will even be worth the effort getting invested in future projects. Ahsoka was bad and boring, just a pointless story that relied on other historical characters from a show very few likely watched, and done nothing with them. Obi-Wan was beyond bad, and the fact they got Joel Edgerton, Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen and still couldn't do anything with them is a joke. The show was also pointlessly adding events in the timeline between the end of ROTS and the beginning of ANH, rather than creating something new, or just giving us a show about Vader's rise to fame through his Jedi hunting, instead of a show about Reva screaming at people, pretending it's about Ob-Wan, forcing Leia into the mix and showing how everyone's IQ dropped like an atomic missile. The Acolyte doesn't look like it's going to be any better and will probably get torn to shreds, SW fans will be called toxic again before and after the release, and Disney will carry on with its strange fascination with losing money and attacking its audience to appease people that don't consume the product. Considering how much time he spent on the damned harvest, you'd think he'd get _that_ right, at least... but nope. The man couldn't even film harvesting in the proper order- let alone craft the nuances & complexities necessary for a modern space epic, such as he's supposedly imagining. I found myself screaming, "That is *not* the order of how you harvest a crop!" You reap first, bind the sheaves into bundles- not those piddly little handfuls (or just do it for a handful, & fork the rest into a sideless 'vehicle'- what the?!), stook - stand the bundles up to dry in the field [which they don't do]. Cart the grain, glean the leftovers, & _then_ thresh & winnow near the grain store, so you don't have to move it as far. "You don't thresh or winnow in the middle of the f^cking field *_while_* the harvest is still going! What the f^ck?!" Oh, & harvested grain was usually left as grain until needed for use, because *it lasted **_longer_* in that form -- hope you lot like the taste of weevils & rancid flour... And it's just such a stupid premise in the first movie; an imperial commander getting pissy about some inconsequential village wanting to do *the normal thing* & keep some of their harvest back for next season's planting- & him stupidly wanting to wipe them out because of that?! It's one lousy village - take what they're able to offer, & then go to the next village on the sh^tty _farm _*_planet_* /moon- whatever, & if you don't get your desired total allotment from the one- go to the next 'farming planet' in your vicinity, & just keep tallying it up 'til you hit your necessary total -- it can't possibly be the _only_ place to get grain- on the planet, nor in the galaxy - & what value is there in killing a workforce? '10 Commandments' said it best: "Men make bricks - the strong make many - the weak make few; the dead make none." This isn't even getting into the actual **big** issues of characters, characterisation, dialogue, or action -- it's just in relation to the initial premise, & then the harvesting. Seriously, it's just a *highly* flawed premise, from the get-go...

Zack Snyder finally made me realize something: Whereas other big-budget directors like Michael Bay and Roland Emmerich are only capable of producing mindless, bombastic schlock, at least they are self-aware about it. Emmerich once famously said "I'm a director, not a scientist" regarding all the rampant inaccuracies in his movies...and for all his faults, Michael Bay is at least proven to be a highly efficient director, at least in terms of production costs...and with movies like The Rock and Armageddon, he proves he CAN make good movies if given the chance. They are deserving of all the mockery they get but at least they don't pretend to be more than what they are. By contrast, Zack Snyder wants to tell deep, epic and thoughtful stories but he has neither the writing ability -- both his own and his long-time collaborator David S. Goyer -- nor even the most fundamental grasp of subtlety, nuance and characterization required to make his stories engaging. He wants to be the next Christopher Nolan so badly that you honestly have to feel sorry watching him stumble over every single hurdle he throws himself in the way...or at least you would feel sorry for him if his movies weren't so painfully sucky, pretentious and misconceived.

i can't believe Zach make the worst trope of "i killing everyone except the last boss because that make me bad like you" to the next level so Korra kill little girl shoot the guard but refuse to shoot the one guy that betray her because that make her bad just like them. goddamn this is even worst like the scene can be the bad guy shoot little girl and blame Korra and it just same impact story and make Korra look like a good person more but nope Zack want Korra to shoot her well yeah little girl not dead so it doesn't count but she chose to shoot her tho

TIL Matthew Broderick killed 2 woman in a car accident in Ireland while visiting in 1987. He was not under the influence of anything, seems like slick roads and poor route planning. A first responder reported that they had to cut Matthew’s door off to get to him, and also reported that, “his main concern was the people in the other car.” And that Matthew was just saying, “did I hurt them? Did I hurt them?” He was doing less than 40, I believe, based on reports from a cop who had previously been following behind the actor while driving. This was because Matthew had stopped and asked for directions from the cop, after which the cop followed for a few miles. This same officer also said that the route they were on was, “just stupid”. In the end, the two woman in the other car passed, Matthew broke a leg and was hospitalized a month. The passenger in his car received only minor bruises. Her name is Jennifer grey, she was his then girlfriend, and also the actress who played his on screen sister in Ferris Bueller. Matthew was only charged with “careless driving” and received a fine of 175$, I believe. He also paid 4075$ in bail, according to some random website I won’t take the time to site because this isn’t an English paper and I’m not that bored yet. Also, this is my first video of yours. I enjoyed. Thanks

the most baffling thing about this movie for me while watching it was how a thing like this could get greenlit and funded with millions of dollars, and they even want to make a multi media franchise out of this like nobody, not a single man looked at this and see problem ? they just all said ok here is the money and called it a day ?

@@TiberiusX They already made a movie of The Fountainhead back in the 1940s. It starred Gary Cooper. I suspect Zach's version would be notable mostly for all the scenes of architects drawing building blueprints in slow motion.
@thomasprice78934 ай бұрын
You should immediately be suspicious of any storyteller who says "I'm gonna make six of these" from the beginning, and DOUBLY suspicious if he says "I need to make movies two at a time and each is half of a whole" Zach is incapable of creating meaningful, punchy dialogue and thus can't construct a character beat without literally hours of buildup. It's true that ZSJL is better than the theatrical version, but the fact that people gave him credit for improving on a chopped up and compromised story when given over four fucking hours to work with is hilarious. And it's also unsustainable, as we're seeing now.

I'm sorry, but I still haven't finished part one. I rage-quit after what's-her-name exposited about how the evil empire taught her that caring for others is a weakness... right before explaining how they _also_ not just allowed, but _actively encouraged_ fraternization amongst their troops "So they would have something to fight for when the Homeworld is far away and duty isn't enough." And don't even get me started on the goddamn robot, the pointless exposition about and from it. If the emperor had loyal robot armies, why did he need human soldiers? If the robots have free will, why aren't they rebelling? If they don't, why aren't they going along with the usurper? And what's with the prophecy about the princess - who made it, and why do the robots care about it? Is prophecy an actual thing in this setting? Is religion, magic, gods and demons? And, and, and... I'm a Warhammer 40,000 fan, I don't expect everything to make sense, but generally each novel or video has at least a degree of internal consistency, and when it doesn't, it's usually called out as either a case of unreliable narrator, or interference from one of the many, many powerful and inscrutable forces and actors of the setting. Ciaphas Cain doesn't go on a tirade about how the Imperium taught him to hate the Xenos, the Mutant, and the Witch, only to then recite the Catechism of Yo-Da about how Hatred is the Path to Heresy!
